  • Wonderful little cabin in the Woods

"I stayed for 6 weeks in this wonderful little cabin and enjoyed it immensely. Throughout my time there I did not see any roaches. Not sure what the reviewer before me saw. Yes, there were a couple bugs but it is a cabin in the woods! There are bugs in the woods. Sometimes they make there way indoors. The inside of the cabin was very clean and well maintained. The furniture and beds were clean and comfortable. The kitchen is quite small but efficient. The 2 decks were nice spots to sit out and relax. The back deck looks into the woods while the front deck looks towards a small pond with a nice array of ducks and geese meandering about. Fishing was good in the pond that has been stocked with bass and brim. Overall, it was a great place to relax and enjoy nature. The owner was very pleasant and always responded if I needed anything. I hope to get a chance to stay here again."

  • Reelfoot cabin in March

"The cabin is very nice. The back deck and the deck out onto the lake are also nice. An entire wall of windows facing the lake was great. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate for us so we didn't catch any fish. The owners were helpful when we needed directions. Wireless worked on my laptop but not on the tablets or cell phones. Yes, I would recommend this cabin to anyone. Look at the tags on the light/fan switches so you don't leave lights on all day. A few sugar ants in one bathroom, but that was all the insects that we saw. The lake itself is not bass boat friendly. Trees and stumps everywhere. The cypress trees are very interesting."

  • Excellent family retreat vacation home

"We rented the Snowden House while in Memphis for our son's wedding. WOW, what a great place! This historic house, with all its architectural grandeur, fine furnishings, and lakefront location was the perfect retreat for our family during a very busy week of wedding preparations, celebrations and sightseeing. Because the house has four bedrooms each with its own bath, we were able to host various family members and close friends throughout our weeklong stay, providing them with their own private area. The fifth bedroom has no private bath, but we put the young adults in that room, and they shared their parents' bathroom(s). The lower level has two other bathrooms which were available to all. The 6,000 square foot home provided plenty of space for us to spread out. We enjoyed early morning breakfasts in the sun room, a birthday celebration in the formal dining room, late afternoon barbeques on the lawn by the lake, and late evening snacks on the screened veranda. The kitchen space was coveted by must guests as it has two sinks, a high functioning Viking gas and electric stove, a large Viking refrigerator and a huge island for prep work and general gathering. The pantry also has a sink and lots of cupboards for food storage. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook, bake and serve. The property owner provided a tour of the house upon our arrival. The pride she has for her family home was evident. She encouraged us to use and enjoy the home as if it were our own. She provided us with all the amenities of a fine hotel, and all the necessities you'd find in a family home. The master suite was a true retreat for us, with its multiple shower heads in the shower and extra long tub for soaking. The linens were high quality, the mattresses comfortable. Some practical suggestions: bring your bug spray, as any lakefront home will have mosquitos/bugs at dusk/night. The AC worked beautifully, keeping everyone very comfortable with its three zone system. Spend the day relaxing by the lake, use the canoe to explore and check out the other houses along the lake. Downtown Memphis is 1/2 hour away. Not having to eat out all the time was a great money saver. Stock the refrigerator at the Memphis Sam's Club or Costco, or at the local Walmart. Eating at "home" was a big cost savings for all. Having a full house make the weekly rental rate very affordable. Hopefully, we'll visit the Snowden House again! Thank you Martha."

  • Fantastic Location

"We chose a trip to Memphis (and Nashville) for our annual family vacation and totally lucked out with this rental property. The location is excellent allowing us to leave our car in the garage and walk everywhere - Civil Rights Museum, Gibson Guitar Factory, Rock and Soul Museum and of course Beale St. From the initial inquiry to the final booking, Linda was a pleasure to deal with. Due to a scheduling conflict with our rental in Nashville, we had to switch the dates and Linda was more than accommodating. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Karen who took us on a tour of the awesome house and offered some tips on sites and dining options. There was so much room for our family of 4 and it provided everything we needed. I especially loved the HUGE washer and dryer! The back bedrooms are definitely the quiet ones, but if noise is an issue then just join the party at The Green Beetle across the street! We loved Deja Vu on S Main St. as it offered a wide for variety for our vegan, pescatarian and carnivore. The trip to Graceland was fun and walking Beale St at night was a music lover's mecca. Definitely take a tour of Sun Studio - our guide was so passionate that he brought tears to our eyes with his stories. We would highly recommend renting any of Linda's properties and if we end up back in Memphis we will be sure to make a reservation! Thanks again for a memorable holiday."
