  • Fabulous place!

"La Mistica was the perfect place for a long weekend getaway. The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked. Besides a wonderful kitchen, the house came with all of the basics that you may have forgotten or didn't want to have to buy for single use. The location is terrific. It's about a mile to Conchineal and a mile and a bit to the Paisano. We were so grateful to have all of the area magazines and info available too. We were able to bring my dog, which I was especially grateful for. The walled garden area kept us all very happy! Truly, a wonderful place for a relaxing break. We can't wait to return!"

  • Let's go again!

"If you have a peripatetic spirit filled with curiosity and optimism, Hillcrest Lodge is your gateway to the wild and beautiful Trans Pecos area of Texas. You’re smack-dab equidistant from historical attractions in all directions. Visit the Val Verde winery in Del Rio, the remote rivers of the desert, and the astounding, utterly breathtaking petroglyphs from the prehistoric past that cover the canyon walls. Frank is an interesting, wonderful host, and his clean, well-stocked and spacious Lodge provides all you’ll need for a relaxing stay. The Texas Parks and Wildlife visitor center is just across the highway down the hill! Imagine…A yard full of wildlife under the feeder, beyond which are panoramic views of Lake Amistad out the front door and the ever-changing light and shadows on the mountains in Mexico out the back door. Mother Nature presents a different show with every unworldly sunset! I was reminded of T.S. Eliot’s line from The Wasteland. “I should have been a pair of ragged claws scuttling across the bottom of silent seas.” Tranquility, silence and perfect peace."

  • Great Place, Great Price

"My group was in El Paso for the USBC Open Championships and booking Marty's place was the best decision we made regarding our travel. The value you get with this property is tremendous and we saved over $100 a person from what we would have spent at a hotel in the area. Having the group all together in one space yet still being able to have our own personal area was a huge plus and made our trip that much more enjoyable. The house itself is well-maintained, fully equipped, clean and in a safe, quiet neighborhood. They say it's all in the details and for me, all the I's were dotted. I think the use of the garage was a big plus and who doesn't love a good wifi signal? You can tell that the owner takes pride in providing the best service possible. Marty was quick with answers to my questions and provided very easy payment options and even helped me with some inbound and outbound UPS packages that I needed delivered. I'm not sure if we will ever be in the El Paso area again, but if we are, we will be looking to stay again."

  • Clean, comfortable and close enough to both BBNP and BBRSP to check out some of both!

"This place is very clean and well maintained. My sister and I stayed for four nights and we were very happy to have rented this place. The full kitchen was great, full size refrigerator, stove, oven and new pots and pans. It's important to me that i be able to prepare my own meals and this was a great place to do that. Having Netflix is a plus, on our last day it was close to freezing with drizzle and winds of 15/20 mph. We took a couple of drives, but, most of the day we were housebound. LHR was a very comfortable place to spend a harsh day!"
