"We had a girls weekend hiking Big Bend and relaxing at the Getaway. The location is great; it's a bit of a drive to the park, but coming home at the end of the day, showering, and sitting on the porch relaxing and watching the sunset, then stars, then sunrise, was great. The house is furnished very comfortably; I was very happy that the AC units had been turned on before we arrived! It was a wonderful place to spend the weekend and we would all love to return. Thank you!"

"We booked one year in advance and read all the reviews. We have been coming to Big Bend and Terlingua for many years. This time we thought we would try Tarantula Ranch for the first time. It felt like Christmas as we approach the cabin. We thought we knew what to expect but, Wow! Off the main road and up into the hills we went. For years we wondered how it would be to see things from this vantage point. Curt our host greeted us and it was like meeting family. He guided us to the rustic cabin and shared many interesting stories with us. We looked out over the valley and hills and it was breath taking. The kids loved the animals and the hikes we did. The cabin has everything you need and we loved not having wifi or cell phone serves. Curt is very informative and helpful. Even though his own family came to visit him over the holidays, he treated us like one of them. After a long hike my family got to enjoy Curtis hot tub and the sounds of nature. The weather was perfect! Cool at night( 50 degrees) and about 68 during the day. Our last day a cold front came in and it rained all night into the morning. It was an adventure and a beautiful sight to see the clouds and fog roll in. We did have a truck that made travel up and down the hills easier for us. Something to think about during rainy seasons. We hope to return on a future stay or a visit just to see our new friend again."

"This place was amazing it had everything we needed. The scenes are beautiful and it's super peaceful when cars aren't driving down the road but it barely even happens. The night skies were amazing. 4 people were in my group & both of us were comfortable and thought it was very private like. I'd definitely come back to visit. Small convenient stores & gas stations are only 4-7 miles away also long draw pizza is what to look out for when finding this place. It is literally right next to it. They're pizza ain't bad Btw it was good."

"This is one of the loveliest cabins I have ever stayed in. It is homey, fully equipped and close to Big Bend/ Terlingua. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs, the back yard goes is neverending and the beds are comfortable. What more do you need? Oh, our dog was totally welcome and enjoyed the property even more than we did. Highlights included hikes on the property and enjoying a drink on the back porch with spectacular views. I highly recommend and hope to be back one day."
