  • Big Bend Area…Terlingua Ranch Road

"Very relaxing. Beautiful sunsets. A great place to relax and really get away from it all. Also a good base to explore the area. We went to Terlingua, Lajitas and Big Bend National Park. There is a little store that has opened on the road so you can get what you need if you forget something. We want to go back in the Spring and hope to see more wildlife. It was too cold for us to see any reptiles or a lot of other wildlife."

  • Spring Break 2014

"Villa Terlingua was the ideal home base for our Big Bend adventures. With growing preteen/teenage children, our family needs room to spread out. The indoor spaces of this home are cozy and the outdoor spaces are breathtaking. The house is rustic, eclectic, and obviously built with love. Rustic does not mean roughing it, however. Hot water on demand in the middle of a ghost town! Who knew? Don't forget to look for the fossils in the shower. And for those who feel the need to stay connected to the outside world, there is internet access. The kitchen is well equipped, but you will want to stock up on groceries in Fort Stockton or Alpine before you make the trek to Terlingua. The local market is fine in an emergency, but expensive and limited. The real treasure of Villa Terlingua is the owner. What an amazing individual. She is a river and back country guide, a scholar, a protector of the environment, an activist, a volunteer, a respected community member. Her knowledge of and love for the area was indispensable as we planned our daily activities. Thanks to her guidance and connections, my husband and I felt very comfortable taking our children across the recently opened border to Boquillas del Carmen for the afternoon. We can't wait for Spring Break 2015 at Villa Terlingua."

  • Great Place for checking out Big Bend

"We came out here with 8 friends for a weekend and had an awesome time. The house is very comfortable. It's great having some property/hiking/scenery right where we are staying and also being a quick drive to Big Bend at the same time."

  • Best place to stay yet.

"My wife and I visit Big Bend frequently and this was the best trip yet. Rancho Mula Oso is close enough to gas and stores but far enough out to give privacy and a great view. The detached carport is perfect for parking our motorcycles. Plenty of room to sleep our party. Nicely outfitted with reading material about the area and little artifacts throughout the house. The operators went over and above to ensure we had a great experience. We'll be back. Jeff and Trudy Bailey"
