  • Why would you ever stay in a motel when the "Mermaid Cottage" is available!

"My husband & I stayed at the Mermaid Cottage for our 40th anniversary trip. The owners are so nice and can answer any questions about the area for you. They make you feel welcome and the cottage is nice and comfortable for 2 people, a home style setting. You can walk to the beach and downtown area easily for some fun adventures. We will surely stay there again on our next trip to Galveston, TX."

  • Girls weekend

"My cousins and I stayed the weekend and we had an awesome time. The only thing that was missing was a waffle iron but we made pancakes instead. The house is so nice and homely like. It makes you feel right at home. Anyone looking for a nice, clean, fully furnished and supplied with everything you need, this is the place to be. We had a blast"

  • College Reunion at the beach

"The Bungalow by the Beach was perfect for our quiet little three couple college reunion. We had one couple that has a 1 year old and they kept commenting on how great the layout of the house was. Lamar was great about letting us arrive a little early and leave a little late as we had flight schedules to work around for the weekend. The only thing was the kitchen wasn't fully stocked - we had to buy a colander and a cutting board along with a large mixing bowl, even with bringing a lot of our own equipment from the one person that lived in Texas. But that's from a big cook - so it likely won't be an issue for most people. Other than that the weekend was fantastic! The house was a quick walk to the beach, even with a stroller, and centrally located to just about everything - including church on Sunday morning (both Episcopal and Catholic) and the grocery store, restaurants etc. Our group is already talking about going back. We had a blast even though it was overcast - and we spent the majority of our time in the house!"

  • Most Amazing House!

"OMG! This house is amazing! We loved every inch of it! There was plenty of space for our 16 person group and we were not right on top of each other, ever! We enjoyed visitng in the bar area, outside on the porch by the pool and really enjoyed the house in its entirety! My husband tried to pool out Friday night, it was a wee bit cold, but what do you expect in November. We are hoping to be able to rent this house again next year around the same time! We highly recommend this house to anyone looking to stay on the island, you are close to everything and some things are even within walking distance. We will definitely be renting it again!!!"
