Wonderful, spacious East End historical home with lots of charm and character
"We were so pleased to get to stay In this wonderful historical home. We loved all the antiques that just give you a nostalgic look back in time. Everything is very sturdy as they were built back in that era. The dining room table and chairs are large and very sturdy. You could just imagine all of the elegant visitors who came through that front door and had tea in the front room by the fireplace. It was an adventure going through each room and looking at the treasures. The owner has certainly put her love into each room with all the furniture, decorations and art. So many of the original features remain that make you feel like you're on the historical home tour. This is very spacious and great for families. There's comfortable seating in each room. We did not get to use the kitchen but it seems very functional and well stocked. The garden rooms were very light and airy and we enjoyed sitting in there. The first afternoon was spent part of the time on the front porch in the rockers, enjoying the breeze. It is in a good location, close to Bishops Palace and other historical sights. It's also a short drive to the beach and Pleasure Pier. I would certainly recommend this home."

"My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pelican Cove for our beach birthday celebration! The house was very clean and accommodating. Everything we could possibly need was provided and more! I will definitely recommend this property and consider staying here again the next time I am in Galveston!"

"We had our annual sibling reunion at the wonderful Captains Cottage....our ages are 60's and 70's..... loved the kitchen , where we all seemed to gather ...some did the jig-saw puzzle on the kitchen table, while others were catching up on kids and grandkids around the granite island...then it all progressed to the back porch where more chatting was done .....after a whole day of checking out the beautiful, friendly town, evenings had us enjoying cocktails in the shade of the back yard...then out to delight in the low cost incredibly delicious dinners about the city...fresh seafood every night !...this is a great town and the Captains Cottage its shining star !!!"
