  • Awesome!!

"We had a small family trip with 5 adults... We had a great time! The breeze at night is wonderful and you can hear the waves on the porch (awesome!) It was very quiet and comfortable! The next time we come to galveston- we will be trying to stay at this house again! The owner is very nice and responds to emails quickly. Definitely recommend this house!!"

  • Shabby Chic Beach Getaway!

"Our family of four just returned from a relaxing stay at this Pirates Beach gem. The home is beautifully furnished with great pieces that evoke both comfort and elegance. As mentioned in other reviews, the kitchen is well stocked with all you need (coffee and tea pot, plenty of cookware, dishes, basic spices, etc.) Plus, the location is unbeatable. You are less than a block from the beach. Yea! Restaurants, grocery stores, and shops are all a short drive away. There are smaller, Mom and Pop stores closer to Pirates Beach but the major strip along Seawall is about 15 minutes north. And when the heat was too much, we enjoyed the game and movie selection for a little indoor family fun. Thanks for a great vacation! We'll be back..."

  • Wonderful place for a family gathering

"We had a great time at Mutineer Landing for our annual family time together. There was plenty of room for the 8 adults and 1-year old to spread out. The sleeping arrangements were great - Each pair of guests had their own bedroom and bathroom. It was nice to have everything we needed under one roof and to be close enough to Houston to visit with family and friends. We would definitely recommend this house for a group get-a-way. We enjoyed our trips to Moody Gardens, NASA, and the Strand and enjoyed the food at Pappasita's Pappadeaux, Bubba Gump, and Bayside."

  • A potential nightmare handled perfectly - can't wait to go back!

"We rented this beach house with some friends to have some fun times on the beach during labor day weekend. We were told that check in time was after 4, so my wife and I headed to Galveston and got to the house around 4:30. We walked in, and it was pretty hot - but we figured the AC was just turned on as the cleaning crew left, so we turned down the temp and started putting up our groceries. 6:00 rolled around - still hot. Then 7 - even hotter. 8, 9, 10, 11 - our friends finally got there, and the house was unbearably hot. We had the doors open, and luckily it was a uncharacteristically cold weekend, so the breeze was unbelievable. We spent most of the evening outside, but then bed time came. It was oppressively hot. So hot, that I decided to sleep outside on the deck, until it started monsoon raining outside. So we had to close the doors, making it even hotter inside. The next day, the owners sent over two people to check out the AC unit - both people said they needed a new compressor and it wouldn't happen until after labor day. Jim and Wendy were EXTREMELY accommodating - they tried to find a friend's beach house that was empty, offered to put us up in a hotel, etc. In my opinion, they went above and beyond. We finally found another beach house, and they refunded us the entire trip - including cleaning and everything. They could have made a bad situation so much worse, but they really made it a piece of cake. The house is great too - it's a shame we couldn't stay there all weekend. Plenty big, well cleaned, and super close to the beach. Next time we go to Galveston with friends, we will DEFINITELY be reaching out to Jim and Wendy."
