  • Amazing place, minus the mosquitos

"The house was amazing, the resort amenities were top notch, the scenery was beautiful, the fishing was great, and the owner/manager was the best I have ever dealt with. Seriously, the BEST! Her attention to the small details was off the charts. The house was very well stocked and clean, and she was always ready and waiting with an answer. I wish all of the owners I dealt with were like her! The only knock on the place were the mosquitoes. They were bad....like terribly bad....like in order to get to your car you had to run and hope you only got bit 3 or 4 times. I know that this issue is out of the hands of the resort and the owner, but I wish I had known just how bad they were. From what I heard from the folks in the area, there are times when they aren't bad, but unfortunately we weren't there at that time. I would strongly advise any renters to come very prepared for them, i.e. sprays, bands, even the machines. I will add though that if you stayed on the balcony porches, they didn't bite you. That was a plus. I should also add that they weren't bad around the pools and on the groomed beach. Getting to those spots bite free was the challenge!"

  • February by the sea

"I was in this condo for a month and loved it. The location is perfect. It was clean, bright and well-maintained, and you can't beat the view. Even on a dreary day, lounging in the recliner, watching the surf, was balm to the soul. The beds were super-comfortable and everything else met my needs. Barb was very helpful. My only complaint was the sofa bed, which was dreadful. Unless it's upgraded, I wouldn't try to sleep more than four people here."

  • Room with a View

"We truly enjoyed our stay in Galveston. The room was clean and comfortable and we received a warm welcome upon entering. Our room was big enough for the two of us but we have become spoiled over the years and have enjoyed much more spacious rooms. For a quick weekend getaway for 2 it is great. I am certain in my much younger years I could have managed well with a couple of little kids along as well.....just not so much anymore. We will return as we were pleasantly surprised with the size of the balcony and the great view!"

  • Great condo for a multi-family vacation!

"We chose this condo for our summertime family vacation this weekend. It was a wonderful experience! A total of 3 families comfortably fit in the space (4 children under the age of 5 and an 8 month old) plus 7 adults.) Each family had their own spacious room with connecting full bathroom. My mother in law slept on a twin mattress and box spring in the living room with sheets and a comforter that were already in the condo. There is no need to bring a blow up mattress. All of the kids slept in the "kids room" with the bunk beds that they were SO excited about sleeping in. My 2 year old son slept on a twin mattress on the floor of the kids room (also already in the condo). This condo overlooks the ocean and the strand and has a beautiful view. The balcony (also equipped with a hot tub) wraps around the entire condo we loved watching the ocean/waves and the people passing by on their bikes, etc. We visited Pleasure pier which was only a 2 minute drive away. We could've walked but we had small kids so we wanted to get closer. We also went to Moody Gardens which only took us about 15 minutes to get to. The condo had plenty of dishes and cookware, and all of the amenities your home kitchen has. We were able to wash clothes and towels in the washer/dryer combo which was also very nice. During our stay we discovered that the DVD player was broken and after calling the owners, they promptly addressed the issue by getting us an HDMI cable to connect to our computer and the next day they brought us a fully functioning DVD player an our kids were able to watch LEGO movie. The large dining area table was great to eat and play games on. We would definitely rent this condo again in the future."

San Luis Travel Tips

San Luis Lodging Expands Your Palate Horizon

If you don't come to Galveston vacation rentals to spend time admiring the beaches or the architecture, perhaps the food will be of interest. With such culinary institutions as Café Michael Burger and Landry's overlooking the ocean, whether watching waves is your thing or not, the food will leave a positive memory. Or, if you have romance on the mind, The Blue Water Grill will leave your date longing for a return trip as soon as possible! With its quiet, intimate, and secluded feel, the seafood will seem secondary in the experience! But if you're longing for a steak to remind you of the mainland that you left behind, then look no further than the quick trip from San Luis lodging to Nate's Westend Seafood & Steaks. They can cook a mean piece of beef while you sip a daiquiri.

Fantasize in Galveston

The breeze that blows through in the evening, as you stroll the lengthy beaches near San Luis lodging, can make you feel as if you're on your own secluded island. Filled with the hint of salt, the scent will remind you of envisioned scenes from Treasure Island. In addition to the soothing scents, sand upon bare feet has known relaxing, therapeutic qualities for most people. San Luis condos can put you close to your childhood pirating fantasies as you survey the ocean at night, watching the blinking lights of ships going by.

Massive Wildlife Refuge Nearby

If you tire of the scenery, and your belly is full, then head to the huge Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge. It's larger than the whole of Galveston island! Here you may see wading birds, waterfowl, or migratory birds, depending on the season. Be on the lookout for sandhill cranes and alligators as well—this is their home! Let San Luis condos be your exodus point!
