  • Great house for a family!

"We really enjoyed the CLEAN space in this home. 3 bedrooms, 2 FULL bathrooms, great kitchen and eating spaces. I enjoyed sitting on the deck watching the pelicans fly by. Owners were very helpful before and during our stay, replying to emails daily when necessary. Nate's West End Restaurant was convenient on Sunday night when everything else was closed by 7 p.m. My favorite "non-chain" restaurant was Jimmy's on the Pier. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone going to Galveston who do not want to be in the middle of all the main attractions. Very peaceful."

  • Great Place, Great Location, Great time, Detailed Review !!!

"When I was looking for places to stay in Galveston with my family, I read through almost every review I can find. I think that reviews are an excellent way to really explain exactly what you are getting in a VR. So i will do my best to give whoever reads this some good information. First and foremost, The homeowner is great! She responded to every email and phone call before we booked, before we arrived, and through the entire time we were there. Information was relayed timely and accurately. The house. This place is great. Lots of room. We had 5 adults and 5 kids during our stay and never felt cramped. The upstairs bedroom is extremely nice and roomy. The bunk bed room has tons of room. There are also two other bedrooms, one next to the bunk bed room and the other is secluded up front away from the other rooms for some privacy. Nice living room, nice kitchen, and dining area. Outside there is a TON of outdoor decking to enjoy. Very nice during the evenings if there is a breeze. Bring your bug spray for the mosquitoes if there is no breeze. Located on the canal so you can fish, paddleboat, kids swimming, floating around, and just relaxing. If you are bringing a boat, there are two boat lifts at the place to store your boat overnight. The marina is nearby to launch, gas, ice, etc.. Gas is a little pricey, but if you own a boat and use marina gas you should be used to the extra $1 added to the price of a gallon of gas. The house is located on a main canal at the end so boat traffic is very minimal, even on the weekends. Its a nice boat cruise to the bay from the house. The beach. We rented a golf cart while we were there for a few of us to ride to the beach. Others walked to the beach without any problem. The beach is nice, a little seaweed this year, but the water was nice and clear. Groceries. This place is located on the west side of the island, about a 20 minute drive to Walmart in downtown Galveston for major shopping. There is also a smaller market about 5 minutes away that has most things you will need. In a pinch, there is a small corner store about 100 yards from the house, but bring your pocket book it is very overpriced. Overall, a great place. Pictures are very accurate and are exactly what the place looks like. Not what is looked like 20 years ago like some ads post. Hopefully this helps, i would write more but running out of allowed characters to use :)"

  • Spring Break 2015

"Overall the House was perfect for our needs. 3 bedrooms, let everyone have their own space. We had a sick family so it was comfortable enough with TV and internet to get the kids through their grumps. The beach view was terrific. We spent as much time on the deck as we could. Having a table on the upper deck would have made this better. Having the stairwell under the main room made our rainy days easy. This deck and stairwell was very well planned out. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved the spacious island. The family room couches were very comfortable. But there was no coffee table, so we had to use some of our coolers for drinks etc. Plenty of sheets and towels for use. It made things easy. I would suggest that they have a talk with their maid service. If they are paying for anything close to what I pay for mine, Ellen isn't getting her money's worth. The property was a beach house. And I understand it takes more to maintain due to salt and sand. That being said, It was nice to have everything right there for your needs. Especially the washer dryer. The beach was nice. Different beach culture. Interesting to watch the golf carts and trucks. My eldest did have his flip flop sandals taken from one of the dudes in a gold cart. Really not sure how you can see a person right there and just take them. We walked at least 2x a day fog or no fog. It was really nice. Galveston was interesting but very low key. Skip Moody gardens unless you have really little kids. The flight museum was neat with lots of WW2 planes. We didn't do pleasure pier but it looked hopping. We did have a hard time finding restaurants that seemed a little more upscale. So we ended up cooking every night but one. Ellen was terrific in giving suggestions for the grocery store. The close places are really expensive and the Chevron station has the closest best "medicine" for sick people. Kroegers in town was awesome. Tons to choose from. Thanks again. I hope we can go back soon."
