  • Relaxing!

"We had a wonderful time in Sea Isle. We thoroughly enjoyed Labor Day weekend at Fisherman's Paradise. The house had everything you need and more! Carey dropped by to meet us and it was so nice to put a face with the name and emails we had been exchanging before our weekend. It rained on and off but the HUGE covered patio kept us out and enjoying our time there. Great neighborhood and very relaxing!"

  • Amazing views, convenient location.

"There are amazing views of the beach from almost every room in the house, as well as from the wrap around, mostly covered deck. There is plenty of comfortable outdoor furniture to relax and enjoy the view and the sound of the surf. As a previous reviewer mentioned, the decor and design is a little dated, but everything is clean and perfectly functional. Aside from the views, the house is a very short walk to the beach and maybe 10-15 minutes drive into town. There were plenty of towels and extra bedding, lots of plates, glasses, cookware, a nice washer / dryer set in the downstairs laundry, as well as a good quality Weber charcoal grill. Summary - we had a great time in Galveston and the house was perfectly suited for our needs."

  • Beautiful home for a family get together

"We spent a lovely week with family in this home. It was just the right number of bedrooms for us, our kids, 2 grandkids and my mother-in-law. The elevator was a huge help for my mother-in-law. There is plenty of space to cook, eat together, and gather on the sofas and chairs to talk. The deck was a huge hit. The view is perfect. The decor inside and out is high end and really pretty. If a problem arises, Tom, the owner, is right on top of things. The previous renters must have left food out while they were there, as even after housekeeping made the place spotless, there were ants in the kitchen. Tom had a handyman out in a few hours of my calling him. He sprayed the perimeter of the house which greatly improved things. As with any coastal home - you have to keep food sealed up and clean up the counters etc. each night. High speed internet worked perfectly even with several people online at once. The beds were all very comfy. Beachtown as a neighborhood is very well located. The Porch Cafe restaurant is a 2 minute walk and the food was delicious with a good variety of choices. The beach is nice in that driving is not allowed (except by city or parks staff). Only issue was the seaweed - which comes onshore once a year. It was late arriving this year due to repeated cold fronts blowing the sargasso seaweed out to sea repeatedly. The crews periodically cleared the seaweed from the water's edge to the dune area (where it helps with erosion control). But we also bought a rake (which we left in the garage) to clear a pathway to the water in between the heavy equipment clean ups. In terms of sound inside the house, the 2 master bedrooms on the third floor could hear almost everything going on downstairs due to some louvered doors on little balconies overlooking the 2nd floor. Tom has a plan to add an extra door for each room that will block the sound. The other bedrooms had no problem with noise. So this upgrade will truly make this home perfect. We look forward to visiting again!"

  • Wonderful Beach Home in a Great Area!!

"We have rented this home twice this year. The home and location are just great! Beachside Village is roughly 4 miles from 61st street so you are very close to Galveston. The beach is a very short walk and you can see the water from the deck on the main floor. The beach area in front of this neighborhood is part of Galveston Island's "Pocket Park #2". The seaweed was kept raked during both of our stays (April and August) and they offered Umbrella and Chair Rentals there. We really appreciated not having to deal with the Seaweed. The home is fully stocked with everything one could possibly need for a beach vacation! There are plenty of extra linens and blankets throughout, and the furnishings and upgrades in the home are very comfortable. There is a grill, toys, chairs and other items downstairs for the kids to use at the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals during our stay. The 3-story layout works out very well to afford everyone privacy and separation if needed. The bathrooms in this house are surprisingly large and so are the closets. The photos really don't do the house justice. A Private Security Officer is almost always present in the community which is a major added bonus. The owners have been very pleasant to work with both times. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone, it was exactly what we needed for both of our family vacations!"
