  • Great spot close to the beach

"My husband and I rented this unit to vacation with our grandchildren. The location is great, very close to stores and restaurants. The unit was the perfect size and the view from the balcony is wonderful. Lots of dishes and cooking supplies (the only thing it did lack was bedding for the hide a bed couch). Nice to have a dishwasher. The owner is very pleasant to work with. Very comfortable. We will be back for sure. Thanks for sharing you little piece of heaven with us."

  • What We Needed and Expected

"Owner was accessible by phone. Check in was a breeze. Covered parking. No smell of pet, smoke, or mildew. Room was very clean and near elevator. Pools are clean and gated. Walk is 50 yards from the beach. Clean bunk beds if you have kids. Good size bed in room. TV in bedroom and main room with DVD in main. Groceries right next door. View of ocean. Stocked with plates, glasses, towels (clean), soap, shampoo. Small fridge but big enough for the three of us. Price for peak season is excellent (unless you are looking for stocked beach towels and chairs, valet, room service, etc...). Very good for peak season. Will be going back. Much thanks to the owners!"

Victorian Condos (Formerly Hawthorn Suites) Travel Tips

Hawthorn Suites Lodging

When you want to get away, but are concerned about how a vacation can leave a huge dent in your pocket book, give Hawthorn Suites lodging a try. Not only will you receive amazing accommodations, but you'll be completely satisfied with Galveston vacation rentals, without breaking the bank.

Galveston on a Budget

So you finally break away from the rat race you call life. You've only got a few days and a trip to Galveston planned. Start off by reserving one of the Hawthorn Suite condos. The condos are beautiful; they house a friendly, courteous staff and are centrally located to much of the goodness Galveston has to offer.

Next, plan to spend a day Galveston Island State Park. Once your there you can hike, mountain bike, swim, fish, or go bird watching.

Within walking distance from many of the Hawthorn Suites condos, there are museums that may beckon you. There's the Lone Star Flight Museum, Texas Seaport Museum, Moody Mansion and Museum, and The Grand 1984 Opera House to name a few.

The Galveston Island Ferry is another way to spend a few hours exploring the island; since it's free, it's an activity that should make it to the top of your list. Take the ferry across Galveston bay to Bolivar Peninsula and spend the day at Crystal Beach.

More to do

Another interesting way to explore Galveston it to take a walking tour of the many historical buildings that decorate the island. Take a stroll through Historic Strand District, which offers the Pier 21 Theater, Galveston Island Railroad Museum, and the Ocean Star Offshore Energy Center and Museum. You can also mosey on over to Postoffice Street for an eclectic blend of art galleries, antique shops and attractive eateries.

Whatever you decide, just make sure you go. Hawthorn Suites lodging will be the avenue to get you there.
