  • Great Location!

"Thank you Elizabeth for having such a great place! The location, beach and pleasure pier all walking distance. the 7 year old twin grandsons thought we were the coolest having a skateboard park across the street! They were skateboarding at 7am! the chalk board walls were fantastic! wifi was fast, games were a plus, water pressure was to die for! Back patio area for morning coffee or glass of wine was great! Outdoor shower! all the needs were met! We will be back! Our neighbors who rented were jealous!"

  • Nana loves this house

"We loved this property! The best one we have ever rented over the last 8 years. Loved the beds and individual bathrooms and the kids loved the bunk beds. Kitchen had everything we could ever have needed! House had enough seating for everyone in the den and was just very comfortable!! Definitely would rent again!"

  • Fantastic time

"Had a wonderful time staying at this condo. Location is perfect- easy walk down to the beach and swimming pool. Neighbors were quiet and I was even more surprised at all the amenities inside then condo. We rent apartments/condos frequently when we travel and this was the best. I have a two year old and hey had books, movies, toys (indoor and outdoor) for kids and board games for the adults. It was an unexpected surprised and helped entertain all of us. There is plenty of room inside and a great balcony. Owners were great and quick to reply with any questions. Location is close to stores and there is a little restaurant/bar on the beach close by (walking distance). I would highly recommend it and look forward to returning."

  • Perfect Beach Getaway

"We enjoyed our stay in this rental so much that we ended up staying a 3rd night. The unit is probably the best in the Sunrise Villa complex. It's the top right unit, so you don't have a neighbor on one side and it's away from the complex pool which can get crowded in the hot summer evenings. And there is a nice glimpse of the ocean which I don't think you'd get from the other units due to the newer houses being built in front of the building. The kitchen was nice and plenty spacious for our family of three. The walk to the beach was just a few minutes. We ended up visiting the beach 2-3 times a day since it was close and not a big deal for our toddler to walk to. The decor in the unit was beachy but tasteful - a lot nicer than some of the other places we looked at online. No generic 'hotel' bedspreads here. We loved the balcony and had our breakfast and coffee out there every morning. The bedroom at the entrance was actually perfect for us since we could put our toddler to bed and then stay up and enjoy the main living room and have access to the balcony without waking him. I would definitely stay here again. I gave it 4 stars, because it needs a little maintenance, but nothing major - the cable wall plate cover was not attached to the wall and one of the towel racks in the bathroom was missing - leaving a whole in the drywall."

Palacios Travel Tips

Enjoy Nature, Seafood, and History While Staying at Palacios Vacation Rentals

Palacios's location along the Matagorda Bay has made it a travel destination for many people who enjoy nature, seafood, and history. Staying at Palacios vacation rentals makes it easy for families to enjoy these activities, especially when they choose Palacios beach rentals that are located right on the shore.

Bird Watching From Palacios Beach Rentals

Like many places in the Texas Gulf Coast, Palacios is an exciting location for those who enjoy bird watching. According to the National Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count, Palacios has more bird species than any other city in the United States. If you visit Palacios at the right time, then you can even enjoy the beautiful sight of hummingbirds as they migrate north or south. Palacios beach rentals will put you right on the shore where you can watch many bird species hunt for their food in the ocean. Instead of waking up early to drive from the hotel to the beach, you simply step out the back door of your Texas Gulf Coast lodging to watch coastal birds in their natural environment.

Palacios, the Shrimp Capital of Texas

Palacios is the Shrimp Capital of Texas, which really means something in a state that has so much land along the coast. Many Palacios vacation rentals are located within walking distance of some of the best seafood restaurants in the country. When you visit, be sure to choose Texas Gulf Coast lodging that is near the Outrigger, Palacios Mexican Restaurant, or Trans Restaurant. The shrimp dishes at these restaurants are so good that you'll want to walk back to your Palacios vacation rental just to burn off a few calories.

Learn About History in Palacios

Everyone who visits Palacios owes it to themselves to take a break from all of the bird watching and eating to learn a bit about the area's history. The City by the Sea Museum has numerous artifacts from the famous La Salle shipwreck as well as other events that occurred during the French colonization of the Matagorda Bay area.
