  • Perfect Spot!

"Annetta and Jim saved the day with my procrastinating in finding a place to stay at the last minute! Great place-very spacious, everything you could need was provided and the location was perfect- we walked everywhere as it was close to both the beach and to town. Wonderful hosts-thank you!"

  • Family Getaway

"I think that this rental was the only one that could provide enough space and places to sleep for our family for such a great price. The kids loved the loft and felt like they had their own bedroom. The kitchen was well-equipped and made it easy for us to prepare some of our meals instead of always going out to eat. I was disappointed that free wifi was not included with this rental, I didn't realize that when the listing stated "wifi" that it simply meant it was available, not that it was free. There is clearly a wireless router in the master bedroom, it would add value to the rental if the owner were to set up a guest password so that renters could use it. The shower curtain needs replaced- it was really annoying that the rings tried to come off the curtain rod anytime you use the shower curtain. The handle on the sliding glass door was broken and a lamp had some broken parts when we arrived, but these things didn't bother us. Don't forget to bring your own paper products and trash bags because you won't find any when you arrive! The stairs to the third level are also a bit of a climb for little kids and grandparents. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this property and felt that it was a good value. We enjoyed swimming at the condominium pool and when the tide was low on the beach we were able to walk across the street and look for sea shells."

  • Beach Vacation

"Had a great time at this condo. Was kept very clean and owner was very informative. Complex is kept very well with a great pool area and hot tub. Beach is nice and close and some decent restaurants nearby."

  • Family reunion

"I just want to say that my family said it was the best vacation ever!! We had such a great time at South Padre Island!! It was all of ours first time, and Dos Suenos was the best beach rental we ever had!! It was cosy and warm, just like I would have my own beach house. It accommodated all 14 of us with plenty of room. It was really nice to be 40 steps from the beach and also have a pool and Jacuzzi right there on the property. Every night was a volleyball match with the family, and cooking out and just relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine. The beds were really comfortable and we really enjoyed having ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The kitchen was roomy and the appliances where awesome. The bathrooms were great, with plenty of towels for everyone. Bill and Linda were great to work with, and I appreciate their help with all the questions we had. The upper deck was great to watch the fireworks on Friday night. The only thing was that the grill needs to be checked, just because the fire was pretty high. Maybe take a look at it. We don't use a propane grill, maybe that had something to do with it, but my husband kept it low, and the flames were still pretty high. Everyone loved the house, and it was nice to get together again after 11 years. If we go back to South Padre Island, we would definitely rent this house again."

Palacios Travel Tips

Enjoy Nature, Seafood, and History While Staying at Palacios Vacation Rentals

Palacios's location along the Matagorda Bay has made it a travel destination for many people who enjoy nature, seafood, and history. Staying at Palacios vacation rentals makes it easy for families to enjoy these activities, especially when they choose Palacios beach rentals that are located right on the shore.

Bird Watching From Palacios Beach Rentals

Like many places in the Texas Gulf Coast, Palacios is an exciting location for those who enjoy bird watching. According to the National Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count, Palacios has more bird species than any other city in the United States. If you visit Palacios at the right time, then you can even enjoy the beautiful sight of hummingbirds as they migrate north or south. Palacios beach rentals will put you right on the shore where you can watch many bird species hunt for their food in the ocean. Instead of waking up early to drive from the hotel to the beach, you simply step out the back door of your Texas Gulf Coast lodging to watch coastal birds in their natural environment.

Palacios, the Shrimp Capital of Texas

Palacios is the Shrimp Capital of Texas, which really means something in a state that has so much land along the coast. Many Palacios vacation rentals are located within walking distance of some of the best seafood restaurants in the country. When you visit, be sure to choose Texas Gulf Coast lodging that is near the Outrigger, Palacios Mexican Restaurant, or Trans Restaurant. The shrimp dishes at these restaurants are so good that you'll want to walk back to your Palacios vacation rental just to burn off a few calories.

Learn About History in Palacios

Everyone who visits Palacios owes it to themselves to take a break from all of the bird watching and eating to learn a bit about the area's history. The City by the Sea Museum has numerous artifacts from the famous La Salle shipwreck as well as other events that occurred during the French colonization of the Matagorda Bay area.
