  • Family Get Together to Celebrate Parents 80th Birthdays and 60th Wedding Anniversary

"The search for the perfect vacation home to accommodate 12 adults started almost a year prior to our arrival in September 2014. We were searching for a clean, bright, nicely furnished home with access to the beach to celebrate mom and dad's special year. Sea's the View exceeded our expectations! We rented all three levels and gathered for meals, fun, and to celebrate on the second level. The balcony's were nicely supplied with comfortable seating to watch the moon come up, chat, and toast to our good fortune and good health. Access to the beach was as promised -- we kayaked, ran, walked and sunned ourselves. The Sandpoint Circle residents' pool was within 1/2 a block and was very clean and cool. One family member lives nearby and directed us to a tour of the ship, Lexington. We ran a 5K, The Patriot Run, in Corpus Christi. We shopped at a local food and fish market. The grill was very busy! The owners are two very talented people. The homes are well designed and appointed with creative decorations and brightly painted rooms. Thanks for the stay! We will be back!"

  • What a great place!

"I stayed here at Port A over a long weekend in the summer of 2014. The Wright Place was awesome with all the comforts of home. The location of the house is great with easy access to the main venues and the beach, but is still mostly quiet because it is set inside a nice neighborhood. Everything inside was nice and well-kept and the beds are amazingly comfortable. The staff is truly helpful and are wonderful to work with. I could not find anything poor with the Wright Place but the inside stairway is a little tight to climb up with luggage in both hands. I definitely will come back and stay here anytime I come back to Port A!"

  • Beautiful Family Gathering Spot!

"From start to finish this was another stellar experience with a "homeaway" from home property! I communicated directly with the owner, Bruce, who was friendly, reachable, and informative. I will never stay in another condo again, if I can help it, and we hope to stay at Somewhere in the Sun again! The description of this property is absolutely correct, the photos are accurate, and we found it to be very clean, well-kept, and would definitely recommend! Our goal was to find a comfortable place to accommodate a family gathering of 8 adults, one toddler, and a dog, under one roof and without everyone on top of one another. This was a great set-up, with the separate-entry unit downstairs, and plenty of bedrooms for people to spread out and relax. The home is beautifully decorated, well-furnished, and has a great kitchen and communal space for eating and visiting. A bit more flatware and dishtowels would have been nice, and just a note for those wanting to cook meals - bring tupperware and ziplocs for leftovers! The bedrooms are well-appointed: good bedding and comfortable beds, with drawer space and nice bathrooms. (Water pressure in the showers was low, but we didn't have any issues with hot water.) We enjoyed the multi-level decks immensely, especially the rooftop deck! It was a major plus to have a washer/dryer available. Check in/out was super convenient with a keycode entry (also great for guests not wanting to mess with lost keys!) and Bruce stopped by to make sure we found everything okay, even going out of his way to get us a new remote for the living room TV which had stopped working. We did have problems with internet inconsistency and noise - the walls and floors are pretty thin, and anyone staying on a lower level is bound to hear overhead footsteps, as well as other "partiers" in the neighboring properties, as it is a 'hood full of short-term rentals. Great for dog-owners (didn't even really need a leash - dog paradise), loved the gated deck (for toddler AND dogs), and the beach is very accessible! We spent 3 nights, it was cloudy and rained all four days. Subsequently, we spent 80% of our time inside and had ZERO problems with cabin-fever, as the home itself is so lovely and enjoyable. Bruce allowed us to stay past check-out, and we considered just never leaving! Thank you to Bruce & family for a wonderful stay! We hope to return next year!"

  • Home away from home

"Great property right next to the beach. My family has stayed here a few times and always come back to it. We have another trip planned in a few weeks. The house is big, fully stocked with all kitchen appliances/utensils, and has a washer and dryer. Grab some groceries on your way in and you never have to eat out your whole trip. The booking process and the check in and check out process are quick and painless. Also, they were very accommodating the time we brought our two dogs. Will definitely keep booking this place."
