Port: a Drink, a Gateway, a Lifestyle
You might think a port is a place from which to embark on your vacation, but it doesn't have to be. Sometimes it's a vacation destination! It's not seafood (mostly), but you want to catch your own seafood, right? If not, though, Crazy Cajun has you covered, with its family-style dining, live weekend entertainment and outside beer garden. And if you're just hankering for a burger, no worries! Little Joe's Smoke'n Grill has your burger, and also your BBQ and steak and more seafood and beer. Hope you brought your appetite. If bird-watching is your thing (hopefully you didn't just eat one at one of those restaurants), you'll find no shortage of sites to satisfy your avian itch. Port Aransas itself includes the Great Texas Birding Trail, comprising such sites as Wetland Park, the South Jetty, Joan & Scott Holt Paradise Pond, and others. The most recent addition, the Port Aransas Nature Preserve, offers bird watchers a chance for a closer look at their viewing subjects in their native habitats.
