"My family and I had a great time here, the night fishing was our favorite time and also when we caught most of our fish. The fenced yard made it nice for our dog and the house is setup very nice. The air conditioner actually quit working while we were there and the owner Mark got a service company out there to fix it within 2 hours. We will definitely try to stay again sometime."

"The only reason I hesitate to give this review is because I'd like to keep it all to myself as our little secret get-away. We, (the three of us all in our late fifties), booked the downstairs at the last minute for a long overdue and much needed weekend of rest and relaxation and this was the perfect place. Just watch out for whoever is upstairs running the water hose on you or flipping cigarette butts and ashes down. All you need is your clothes and food. The beach, just a few steps away is almost like your own private beach especially at night and far enough from the hustle and bustle and tourism. We spent most of our time on the patio enjoying the cool sea breeze and watching the waves roll in, so relaxing. The time was just too short and went by way too fast and we are looking forward for a chance to go back. The only reason I don't recommend it is so that it will be available when we get that chance to go again, how selfish of me! Thanks Bob and Karol for the perfect weekend."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Somewhere in the Sun. Owner communication was great, and the house was well stocked and clean upon arrival. All the necessities, like cable, wifi, and all dishes and cookware was a major plus. The view from the third floor master deck was amazing, and it was a peaceful place to sit out and read a book and take in the breeze. The lower deck had a table for cards or eating outside, and there was plenty of seating. We liked the fact that the master was up and away from the two lower bedrooms, as the kids stayed down there. The dual air conditioning was great, and the master bath was an oasis, with a walk in dual head shower for a relaxing time after a hot day at the beach. We even had a friendly black bird who showed up for snacks throughout the day, and was a daily fixture. The chairs and beach toys were nice and provided the kids with things to do. The location is good also, with it being off the main roads and not too far from the beach at the same time. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. They had a nice golf cart in garage, would be a nice option to rent its use for additional fee so renters could drive around area and to beach to drop items off."

"Rosie"s cottage is really cute, very comfortable with lots of open space. Rosie is a very nice host and ready to help at a moments notice. The house has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Having been totally remodeled- it is super clean and in a very nice, safe, quite neighborhood 2 minutes from seawall. We totally enjoyed it with a 2 year old that had plenty of room to play. Definitely will contact her again for the next trip to Galveston. Thank you Rosie."
