  • Beautiful home for a family get together

"We spent a lovely week with family in this home. It was just the right number of bedrooms for us, our kids, 2 grandkids and my mother-in-law. The elevator was a huge help for my mother-in-law. There is plenty of space to cook, eat together, and gather on the sofas and chairs to talk. The deck was a huge hit. The view is perfect. The decor inside and out is high end and really pretty. If a problem arises, Tom, the owner, is right on top of things. The previous renters must have left food out while they were there, as even after housekeeping made the place spotless, there were ants in the kitchen. Tom had a handyman out in a few hours of my calling him. He sprayed the perimeter of the house which greatly improved things. As with any coastal home - you have to keep food sealed up and clean up the counters etc. each night. High speed internet worked perfectly even with several people online at once. The beds were all very comfy. Beachtown as a neighborhood is very well located. The Porch Cafe restaurant is a 2 minute walk and the food was delicious with a good variety of choices. The beach is nice in that driving is not allowed (except by city or parks staff). Only issue was the seaweed - which comes onshore once a year. It was late arriving this year due to repeated cold fronts blowing the sargasso seaweed out to sea repeatedly. The crews periodically cleared the seaweed from the water's edge to the dune area (where it helps with erosion control). But we also bought a rake (which we left in the garage) to clear a pathway to the water in between the heavy equipment clean ups. In terms of sound inside the house, the 2 master bedrooms on the third floor could hear almost everything going on downstairs due to some louvered doors on little balconies overlooking the 2nd floor. Tom has a plan to add an extra door for each room that will block the sound. The other bedrooms had no problem with noise. So this upgrade will truly make this home perfect. We look forward to visiting again!"

  • Family trip to S. Padre Island 2014

"This was our first trip to South Padre Island. The condo is right on the Gulf with easy access to beach. Beautiful view of from main patio. Condo is very well-maintained and well- stocked. There were 6 adults so the 3 separate bedrooms were very nice. The living room/dining area was a little tight for 6 adults to just hang out, but we were not in condo that much."

  • Best place to stay on Galveston Island!

"Diamond beach condos have so much to offer we had to drag ourselves away to Galveston's other attractions. The Lazy River is so good for spending the day for all age groups. So much better than just a pool. The sea and beach are not great especially as when we were there there was a huge influx of seaweed. So glad we weren't in any other complex with lesser pool facilities. Even when it rains there is the indoor games room, indoor pool and movie theatre (The condo had a great selection of movies or you can hire them from reception.) The condo itself was immaculately clean, spacious and comfortable with a great view from the balcony. It's as good as it looks in the photos and is so well stocked we didn't need to bother taking all the soaps and kitchen essentials. Lots of extras like the WiFi, iPod stations and TV's in both bedrooms. The bathrooms were brilliiant. We also had 2 adults on the sleep sofa for part of the stay and they said it was perfectly comfortable. Nice to have undercover secure parking and the fact that no one unauthorised could get in made us feel happy to let the kids go off on their own around the Lazy River. Plenty to do in Galveston on a wet day too. Pirate exhibition, Mayfield Manor, Oil rig museum, Railroad museum etc. The Pleasure Pier has rides to scare anyone! All within 10 minutes drive. We ate out quite a bit. Aside from the usual chains we went to The San Luis (take a warm jacket and a torch it's very cold and dark) and the West End Restaurant away from the crowds which was a really nice atmosphere and afterwards you can listen to live music in Sams Bar down below The owner answered our emails promptly and was very helpful. Would certainly recommend this to anyone and would be more than happy to go again."

  • Just like the pictures!

"We had a wonderful time at this house wishing we could have stayed longer, but life called us back!! The view was spectacular. There was a stretch of beach near by for "shelling" although the actual beach access was about a mile away. The Rockport Beach was wonderful for the 2 one year olds with us as it stretches out shallow and warm for a long time leaving plenty of room for them to toddle and sit and dig and "swim". House could use some updates, particularly in the bathrooms, but was adequate for us with a well furnished kitchen and huge pantry area. Owner made renting easy for us. A neighbor was very helpful to us."
