"My husband and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. We've stayed at a lot a of vacation condos and this house is definitely ranked at the top of our list. The condo was absolutely beautiful and it was supplied with everything we needed for the weekend. The condo was in a prime location as it was only a short walk from the beach and from local shops. Daniel, the owner, was incredibly hospitable and easy to work with. I would highly recommend this condo and my husband and I look forward to staying again sometime."

"Ok I am a person who is very picky where we stay and for a good price. The last thing I want is to be stuck in a place that is not nearly as nice as it seemed. I do rely on postings and trip advisor to make my selections. After seeing the positive feedback on this condo we went ahead and booked it. It certainly lived up to our expectations. We had zero complaints about the condo by anyone in our family including the little kids and the teens. The condo was great. Very clean, very nice, and living quarters were great. We took full advantage of the chairs and cooler for the beach. All the cooking items you needed were there. The condo has about 14 units so it is small enough to have peace and quiet. The pool was great and we used it every day. If you don't know the island setup the condo is maybe a tenth of a mile away from the main road where the big condos on the beach are at. Even those big condos you had to walk as they are not on the beach itself. So staying away from those your staying in much better and quiet location that required maybe a tenth of a mile further of walking and you are saving hundreds of dollars. I would recommend this condo to anyone who is going down there. I know the next time we go we will stay there. Regarding Eric the owner he did something most people would not do. After telling him we were going to book the condo we had to wait to make the payment because our debit card would exceed the daily limit. He offered to separate the payment in two days. However my phone died and during that time he had a person also wanting to book the condo after we talked. He informed me of this and said as a owner he would have to ensure he got a client who was going to pay. After all money talks. I did not see the email because my phone died. When I saw it it was maybe 6 hours later and he still did not let the condo go to the other person still giving us the chance to get the condo. That was very classy of him, and it shows in his condo as well. Thanks again Eric we had a great time. As for Padre we have been to every beach in Texas and this was the first time down here in many years. The beach hands down is better than any other beach in Texas. Water is clear and a nice green color. Saw many dolphins. Sand is great no seaweed or trash. Was a great vacation."

"My husband and our two little girls (of the 4-legged variety) stayed here for a week. When we first arrived, the beach bar next door was really hopping and even though I had read the reviews and knew what we were getting into, I thought, "This is not going to work". But once inside the unit, it's built so well (solid concrete someone said) and the sliding doors are of such high quality, that we really couldn't hear much at all. In fact, we had neighbors all week and we never heard a peep from the other units. I like that because I'm very sound-sensitive.
So Clayton's didn't really bother us since it settled down during the week and on the weekend, we just enjoyed the island vibe from the music across the way. And our last night we were treated to an incredible 10 minute fireworks display originating from there.
We loved the tropical grounds, which were very well-kept. The Tiki staff were friendly, helpful and plentiful. We loved being able to walk out onto the deck any time of day to the most glorious ocean view. On the weekend, there was lots of activity and it was great for us people-watchers. But during the weekdays and the early morning hours the beach and ocean were simply beautiful and calming. I don't think the smile left my face all week.
We loved the Sea Turtle Rescue across the street and the wonderful Birding Center, also within walking distance. Just up the road a bit is the convention center with the beautiful "Whaling Wall" and the Nature Walk, which we did twice. It's free, it's dog-friendly, and we saw the best sunsets from the long pier that goes out into the bay.
We loved breakfast at Ted's Restaurant and Yummie's Bistro. We loved Blackbeard's and ended up going back a second time because we saw the great hamburger served at the table next to us and had to try it. Our favorite fresh seafood was actually at Joe's Oyster Bar in Port Isabel just before you enter the Causeway to go to SPI. We went there twice too. We had pizza and salad at Gabriella's. It was good, but next time we'll go to D'Pizza Place for pizza (recommended by a local) and have one of the delicious looking entrees we saw at Gabriella’s.
All in all, we found our first trip to SPI most enjoyable. The food was good, the people were friendly and the sights were fun. The condo was very pretty, clean and comfortable. We didn't do much cooking, but the kitchen is very well-stocked. We will come back and we will stay at this unit again."
