  • Fabulous stay

"We stayed here early Feb for 4 days and couldn't be happier. It's a smaller building and therefore very quiet. The unit was every bit as described by the owner. Unlike some complaints, we tried the jacuzzi twice and the water was hot. When we arrived, we had all the instructions ahead of time to get in the unit without any issue. Two private parking spots available. The only thing about this unit is that if u r looking for beach-view unit, then this is not one of them. I already knew that when I booked so no complaints. The beds were very comfortable ... All the positive reviews have been written for a reason."

  • A perfect place to stay

"Ok I am a person who is very picky where we stay and for a good price. The last thing I want is to be stuck in a place that is not nearly as nice as it seemed. I do rely on postings and trip advisor to make my selections. After seeing the positive feedback on this condo we went ahead and booked it. It certainly lived up to our expectations. We had zero complaints about the condo by anyone in our family including the little kids and the teens. The condo was great. Very clean, very nice, and living quarters were great. We took full advantage of the chairs and cooler for the beach. All the cooking items you needed were there. The condo has about 14 units so it is small enough to have peace and quiet. The pool was great and we used it every day. If you don't know the island setup the condo is maybe a tenth of a mile away from the main road where the big condos on the beach are at. Even those big condos you had to walk as they are not on the beach itself. So staying away from those your staying in much better and quiet location that required maybe a tenth of a mile further of walking and you are saving hundreds of dollars. I would recommend this condo to anyone who is going down there. I know the next time we go we will stay there. Regarding Eric the owner he did something most people would not do. After telling him we were going to book the condo we had to wait to make the payment because our debit card would exceed the daily limit. He offered to separate the payment in two days. However my phone died and during that time he had a person also wanting to book the condo after we talked. He informed me of this and said as a owner he would have to ensure he got a client who was going to pay. After all money talks. I did not see the email because my phone died. When I saw it it was maybe 6 hours later and he still did not let the condo go to the other person still giving us the chance to get the condo. That was very classy of him, and it shows in his condo as well. Thanks again Eric we had a great time. As for Padre we have been to every beach in Texas and this was the first time down here in many years. The beach hands down is better than any other beach in Texas. Water is clear and a nice green color. Saw many dolphins. Sand is great no seaweed or trash. Was a great vacation."

  • Beautiful Beachfront Condo

"Beautiful, roomy condo with a great view of the beach and jetty, especially at sunrise. The Sea Vista condo did not lack anything! The king bed in the master suite was so comfortable that I didn't want to get up in the morning ... and I ALWAYS want to be the first person on the beach! The kitchen was stocked with plenty of cookware and serving pieces and was perfect for the Super Bowl dinner we hosted. We loved being on the beach and the short walk to the water and the outdoor showers are definitely a plus. We will highly recommend the Sea Vista to our friends and hope to return again for a longer visit. We sincerely thank the property manager for meeting our needs on such short notice."

  • Great Stay

"The condo was well thought out and beautifully furnished. It was so handy having an elevator to get our luggage up and down the stairs. Every morning we would take a walk along the beach and then eat breakfast at one of the nearby restaurants. There are plenty of other great restaurants and shopping centers just a short walk from the condo.Thank you so much for making sure everything went well and being so prompt to answer any questions we had. Our vacation was fantastic!"

South Padre Island Travel Tips

South Padre Island is located on a long strip of island at the very southern tip of Texas and has beautiful natural landscapes, year-round attractions and events that visitors from spring breakers to families will enjoy.

Nature Attractions

South Padre Island boasts several opportunities to immerse yourself in natural beauty and learn about the delicate coastal ecosystem:

Sea Turtle Inc. is located at the end of Padre Boulevard near the convention center. It is a conservation center committed to protecting all sea turtle species. Kids can learn how to identify each type of sea turtle, take part in crafts and learn about conservation efforts. If you’re here in the spring, this is a must-visit for watching as sea turtles hatch and are released into the wild.

The Dolphin Research and Sea Life Nature Center, located across the bridge on Port Isabel, is another great spot for kids and adults to learn about Gulf Coast sea life. You can get up close and personal with hermit crabs and starfish, or take a boat tour to see some dolphins. While you’re nearby, check out the Port Isabel Lighthouse.

Take a walk on the Laguna Madre Nature Trail, a stunning, 1,500 foot marshland boardwalk, to see coastal birds and get some exercise and head to the nearby Birding and Nature Center as well.

Beach Activities and Watersports

South Padre island is abundant in outdoor sports and activities. Here are some of the best:

- Take a sandcastle building lesson from Boomerang Billy’s on the beach.

- Visit Schiltterbahn Beach Waterpark on the southern end of the island. This sandcastle themed waterpark is a kid’s paradise.

- Visit the 40-acre Adventure Park at the end of Park Road on Laguna Madre Bay to rent ATVs to cruise along the beach.

- Ride horses along the scenic beach with the Island Equestrian Center - both amateurs and experienced riders are welcome.

- Take a boat cruise. Head out on The Original Dolphin Watch, take a cruise with Isla Tours, or take a sunset, snorkeling or dinner cruise with Southern Wave Sailing Charters. You can also rent paddleboats and kayaks from this watersports shop, located on the west side of the island off of Laguna Madre Bay, between the popular Tequila Sunset and Louie’s Backyard bar and grills.

Dining Options

South Padre Island has plenty ofcasual beach fare and local seafood options.

- For beachside casual fare, head to brightly decorated Pier 19 Restaurant, grab fried shrimp at Dirty Al’s on the Marina, check out Coconuts Bar & Grill off of Laguna Boulevard or hang out at Wanna-Wanna Beach Bar & Grill on the east side of the island.

- Grab a local brew and excellent burger at Padre Island Brewing Company

- The best spot for upscale dining in South Padre Island is the Sea Ranch Restaurant, which offers fresh seafood dishes and pretty harbor views.

Events

In the first weekend of October each year, South Padre Island celebrates the annual Sand Castle Days, a 3-day event where you can watch master sand sculptors from around the world compete to turn sand into stunning works of art. There’s an amateur contest and arts and crafts for kids. Clayton’s Beach Bar and Grill hosts the event.

If you visit in December, don’t miss the Christmas Lighted Boat Parade. Locals dress their boats with Christmas lights and parade from Pirates Landing in Port Isabel to Jim’s Pier on South Padre Island. You’ll see everything from yachts to kayaks in this annual competition and winter celebration.
