  • Wonderful family vacation!

"We had decided on taking a family vacation for my kids birthdays in July. They have been begging to go to the beach, so the search was on for a decent priced beach house that would be comfortable for our family, close to the beach, and not in the center of the 'city life'. This beach cottage was just that! We asked a friend and her 2 children to join us and the house was perfect for 4 kids (between 5 & 10) and 3 adults. The kids loved that they could all sleep in the same room, and wake up and see the water. The deck is amazing and was used several times throughout our visit. We had every breakfast, lunch and a couple dinners outside watching the birds and listening to the waves. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. It was very private and still close enough to go into town without a lot of hassle. The house itself is a little older, but has been remodeled. There were absolutely no concerns about the house at all! Thank you Robert for having such a wonderful place you can share! We will be back in the coming years for another beach filled family vacation!"

  • Absolutely amazing.

"Our family had a wonderful vacation. Your home was everything you listed and more. The location was perfect...kids loved the beach. There wasn't anything you didn't provide...truly a home away from home. We'll be back next time we take a beach vacation. Thanks so much for your hospitality."

  • Wonderful location and great condo!

"We arrived on Friday and got in right around checkin time. Condo was clean and ready to go! We were very pleased and surprised by the ground floor view it was great. This condo has a wonderful set up for 2 couples. The master had a king bed and private bathroom and the 2nd bedroom was a queen but it had a private entrance to it's own bathroom to or could be accessed from the main area. We just shut it off and each used our own private baths. Both beds slept great no mattress issues like at some places. Kitchen set up was good, full refrigrator, stove/oven and microwave and dishwasher. We didn't cook to much but looked like it had ample cooking supplies. What was really nice was all the imenities next to it that we could use. Outside pool was great but to cold to use this time of year. There was also a inside pool but it was cold, would of been great if heated, steam room, ping pong tables and just nice area to sit and talk. If weather was nicer it would be a great pool inside or out for sunbathing. If we were coming back to Padre we will look to see if this is available. Owner was easy to work with and I had my deposit back within a day after check out. Good information packet was there on where and what to do in the area. Few things to think of that would be nice would be a guide of the TV channels, we did alot of surfing trying to find what we were looking for. Upgrading to a flat screen would be nice to as it was a little hard to watch in the TV unit. Just a thought for the future! Thanks Very & Linda for a great vacation rental, we enjoyed staying at your home!"

  • A potential nightmare handled perfectly - can't wait to go back!

"We rented this beach house with some friends to have some fun times on the beach during labor day weekend. We were told that check in time was after 4, so my wife and I headed to Galveston and got to the house around 4:30. We walked in, and it was pretty hot - but we figured the AC was just turned on as the cleaning crew left, so we turned down the temp and started putting up our groceries. 6:00 rolled around - still hot. Then 7 - even hotter. 8, 9, 10, 11 - our friends finally got there, and the house was unbearably hot. We had the doors open, and luckily it was a uncharacteristically cold weekend, so the breeze was unbelievable. We spent most of the evening outside, but then bed time came. It was oppressively hot. So hot, that I decided to sleep outside on the deck, until it started monsoon raining outside. So we had to close the doors, making it even hotter inside. The next day, the owners sent over two people to check out the AC unit - both people said they needed a new compressor and it wouldn't happen until after labor day. Jim and Wendy were EXTREMELY accommodating - they tried to find a friend's beach house that was empty, offered to put us up in a hotel, etc. In my opinion, they went above and beyond. We finally found another beach house, and they refunded us the entire trip - including cleaning and everything. They could have made a bad situation so much worse, but they really made it a piece of cake. The house is great too - it's a shame we couldn't stay there all weekend. Plenty big, well cleaned, and super close to the beach. Next time we go to Galveston with friends, we will DEFINITELY be reaching out to Jim and Wendy."
