  • Fantastic Hideaway

"Tucked away in a charming neighborhood is this absolute gem. Though it's located just a short, easy walk to all the fun stuff, it really feels like retreat, yet you can walk to the Continental Club in ten minutes or so. It's the best of both worlds really. Freeways and main streets are all easily accessible from here, the neighborhood feels very safe and the neighbors are friendly and quiet. One of them has chickens in the yard (no rooster though, so it's not noisy!), which I thought was super charming. The house itself was impeccably neat, clean, and comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and there are a couple of good markets within walking distance should you feel like eating in. It gets fantastic morning light, and there is a place to sit and enjoy your coffee in the backyard. Robert, the owner, is super responsive and accessible to answer questions and make recommendations, he was an absolute pleasure to work with. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Austin. It's so much better than a hotel! You really can't do much better than this traveling as a single person or a couple. I'd definitely stay here again."

  • Family reunion getaway

"We had our family reunion in July and we had 22 people with kids and all of us enjoyed it. Pool and hot tub were both great. I slept on the cast iron trundle bed and had the best sleep in years. 6 bedrooms and pull out couches and chairs. Huge kitchen and loved the out in the country feel. We needed a place so we were all under one roof with lots of activities and a central place to eat. Each year we take turns finding a spot and this was an excellent choice. Each of us has a different idea of where to go but this one ticked all the major boxes. Game room for the kids, hot tub was very warm without being too hot, and I loved the longhorn that looked liked he had black speckled eyebrows. Afraid we never ventured into town because we had too much fun there. If you are looking for something that is the opposite of the Waldorf with a down home feel this place is it. Off the beaten path and worth the trip."
