CLEAN, WELL DECORATED AND WONDERFUL MANAGEMENT
"We contacted Dominique only two days prior to our desired arrival. She was very prompt in answering our questions and getting appropriate information to us. We arrived very late on 7/30 but with the keyless entry we had no problems, nor did any of the four of us have to keep up with keys/cards. We had two adults and two teens and the condo was perfect. If you don't mind a nice walk, you can get to any of the popular food trucks, SOCO and South Lamar with no problem. If you don't mind a longer nice walk, you can cross the bridge over Lake Austin and find more shops and eateries and 6th street. Not a walker? The bus is convenient, and it's a very fast drive anywhere around. The condo itself was very clean, with ample towels for everyone (we did wash a load with the available detergent but we were taking many showers due to visiting swimming holes each day.) The beds were comfy and we all slept well. The kitchen is nicely equipped unless you're planning on major cooking/baking, in which case I would inquire specifically what the kitchen has vs. what your needs are. One small note: The entrance is right off a busy street, and there is quite a dip between the lot and the road so our car scraped every time going in and out. It appeared that the owner was also concerned and working with contractors to try to remedy. Other than that: The owner checked in on us twice and was very prompt and very kind. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again!!"

"This is my second time staying at Verde Camp, and will not be my last. Verde Camp offers SO MUCH MORE than a hotel or Air BNB, and is located a very short walking distance to South Congress Street, the main street and hub of Austin. The homes all have a very "Austin, Texas" aesthetic and feature cable TV/Netflix, a full kitchen (with complimentary bottles of Topo Chico, coffee and tea), amazing outdoor patio spaces, bikes, laundry and the price is amazing for everything you get."

"Spent a week at Orange Door with my teenage son, grown daughter and elderly mother. Suited us all wonderfully. Just 4 steps with great railing for elderly G-ma. SUPER clean and well maintained. I have to have an outdoor space and there were two charming patios (front elevated patio could use a couple of chairs). Sitting on the back patio, in the most charming neighborhood under the live oaks, unbeatable! We used a rental car due to a wedding in Dripping springs with lots of wedding activities leading up, BUT it is very walkable to SOCO and the great shops and restaurants. Great choice for the wonderful city of AUSTIN!!"

"My wife and I rented this cottage to travel from Dallas to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in Austin. We really weren't familiar with the Austin Soco (South Congress) area and were delighted to discover its great charm and Austin "weirdness." After arriving at the cottage (yep, lovely bottle of wine with a note from the owner), we walked the short (3-4 blocks) distance to SoCo. In crossing South Congress street, there is a stunning view to the north of downtown Austin with the Capitol at the end of the horizon. If you have previously visited Austin and have seen some of the major sites (e.g. the Capitol and UT), you really wouldn't need a car because SoCo offers a lot for a short visit and you're even within reasonable walking distance of the Barton Springs Pool, The Zilker Outdoor Theater (didn't make it to Hairspray, but heard it was great), and a great hiking trail that ends/begins at the Pool. The cottage is in a quirky, unpretentious, yet very safe and pleasant neighbor (pedestrian friendly). The drive-up appeal of the cottage won't blow you away, but the inside is so classy, clean, comfortable, tasteful, and utilitarian, it more than makes up for it. When we arrived, there was only one wine glass in the cupboard (previous tenant had apparently broken a few). We alerted the owner and he was over in less than an hour to replenish. Pictures you see of the place on VRBO are accurate. What you see is what you get. It is just as nice as it appears. Had dinner at two great restaurants we walked to (Guero's - Tex-Mex and Bouldin Creek Cafe - Vegetarian) - both were superb. Did yoga at Castle Hill Fitness (short drive) two days - good place for that."
