Recent Travis Heights property reviews

  • "We came here for a conference and had the absolute best time. It's fantastically close to everything you'd want to do- and eat- in Austin. The novel setup feels homey, like having your own bungalow in the best neighborhood in town. We fell in love with the rooster and the good vibes at Verde Camp, and even composed a musical on the spot. Not to be missed!"

  • "Camp Verde is the bomb. Having lived in Austin for 7 years, we knew how great the location would be and it didn't disappoint. Walks to S. Congress for coffee, breakfast tacos, etc. were great fun. The house is spacious, well-equiped, clean, and comfortable with great beds and linens. Owner BJ and caretaker Michael are super friendly and attentive. We had our 2 and 4 year olds with us and they loved playing in the yard. We hope to stay several weeks next year."

  • Excellent location in Austin

"We enjoyed a wonderful 2 weeks in this house, which is ideally located for all Austin has to offer. The house is well stocked, in a great, safe neighborhood. It has a nice deck and parking off the rear of the house, with a fenced yard, which our dog thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately the weather was less than perfect while we were there, but the house was warm and cozy. We really appreciated the comfortable beds, great linens and towels and the ease of working with Sam on the booking. We will definitely return to this house on our next trip to Austin."

  • Stellar sophisticated hideaway in secluded oasis of green!!!

"What a joy. I can not recommend the gorgeous treetop getaway highly enough. The interior is modern but not sterile, very cozy and welcoming, all the comforts of home but fresh and gorgeous and looking out the wall of windows at the backyard just gives one a perm-smile. This is an incredible bang for the buck. Location location location, but more than that, a gracious and very welcoming space that you leave feeling renewed and refreshed and wanting to come back! There is some seriously good energy at this place. I feel a good 5 years younger!"

Travis Heights Travel Tips

See Hip Hotspots While Staying at Travis Heights Vacation Homes

Historic Travis Heights, located in south Austin, Texas, is a desirable neighborhood with a mix of hip apartments, small family homes and large mansions. There is also a large selection of Travis Heights vacation homes. The neighborhood was created in 1913 as an exclusive area for the wealthy. Now, it's one of the most sought after locales, thanks in part to its proximity to Downtown Austin and to major freeways. It is also close to South Congress Avenue, referred to as SoCo. This is an area of Austin known for its trendy cafes and unique shopping. When visiting the area, be sure to choose Travis Heights lodging that puts you near the SoCo area.

Parks Offer Activities for Children and Adults

The area's name comes from the topography of the land. The landscapes rise and fall, giving some residents excellent views of Downtown Austin and others peaceful views of wooded hollows. Big Stacy Park and Little Stacy Park also boast the same landscape, with acres of rolling woods for children to play. Adults can enjoy the offerings at both parks as well. Jog around the parks or cycle through the natural settings. Those with pets can enjoy Norwood Estate Park, a dog-friendly park where many locals gather on weeknights and weekends.

Enjoy the Area's Historical Architecture

The architecture in Travis Heights is simply stunning. You can find many carriage houses with detached garages throughout the neighborhood. Many of these garages have been turned into highly sought after apartments as well as Travis Heights lodging for tourists visiting the area. You will also find bungalow-style homes that were popular during the area's huge development boom in the 1920s. Some of these homes have also been turned into Travis Heights vacation homes. Stay in the heart of Travis Heights with Austin vacation rentals.
