  • Highly recommend

"Our family of 5 adults and one toddler spent Christmas weekend at the perfectly located River View Guest House. I echo all the positive comments. We were enchanted by the rustic, authentic "Hill Country" charm of the home and the picturesque river view from several rooms. The common areas are spacious and comfortable. The well-equipped kitchen is also well designed, accommodating multiple cooks. Dining and relaxing in the sunroom overlooking the river was a highlight. I only wish our stay could have lasted longer. The homeowner is as delightful as the property and went out of her way to help me locate and retrieve something I left behind. We are most grateful to have had the opportunity to spend time in this lovely home."

  • Great Time in Austin

"Lovely home, owners were easy and pleasant to deal with. Alot of restaurants and shops within walking distance, even a CVS if you need that late night Pepsi! There is a cute little pizza shop right across the street - 360 pizza. Feels like a step back in time put the pizza is awesome, and you can play Ms. Pacman on one of the original machines!"

  • Return Stay, Again 5 stars all the way!!!

"We stayed here again for the 2nd time at the Dubl-C Guest House and will again in the near future. It was so good to meet the owners. Even though they are close by, you would never know. Again, this house was so clean and provides all the new necessaries (not grandma's hand me downs as other places) you would need. This house is quite, peaceful and so comfortable. Even through we have only stayed here in the winter, it is very warm and cozy. You will not be disappointed staying here, although we would like to keep it a secret for future stays."

  • Might just be the prettiest place in the Texas Hill Country

"I still can't believe this place exists. I've lived and worked and camped all across the hill country all my life and there is no other place like this one. The owners have spent 19 years grooming this property. On the mile of private river frontage there is zero cactus, no loose rock. Just giant elms and sycamore trees and smooth grass. The place looks like a park. You can play football along the river. There are hiking trails, off road trails, caves to explore, natural springs bubbling up out of the ground, campsites, lookouts, canyons, scavenger hunting maps, tree maps, shooting ranges. There is a magnificent lodge on the river. The San Saba river no less. In all the Texas Hill Country there is no prettier river than the San Saba. It's crystal clear. Everything was first rate - everything we needed was provided to us. You are 10 minutes from town but 1000 miles from stress. What an unbelievable property."
