  • Beautiful place to stay!

"This was a perfect place for my daughters bachelorette weekend. She wanted a low key weekend in the hill country. This home was perfect for 5 women. We enjoyed Boerne, Comfort, Fredericksburg and Luckenbach. I would highly recommend The Creek in Boerne for dinner. The house was fully stocked, very clean and very well maintained. Both mornings we were greeted by 15-20 deer. The owner Lise was fantastic. She was very quick to respond to email questions, left detailed information and even left us food for the deer. I would highly recommend this property and will be back. You will not be disappointed."

  • Horseshoe Bay Condo Overlooking Lake LBJ

"My family and I enjoyed the creature comforts of this condo better than nearby Horseshoe Bay Resort (actual hotel) and the adjacent HBR Paseo apartments where we've stayed before. The space was more than sufficient for four; the furniture and amenities nicer than the hotel; the view far superior than 1/3 mile away at the HBR hotel or apartments. We liked the cleanliness of the kitchen, bathrooms, guestrooms and living room. The two beds were comfortable, as were the pillows. No issues with housekeeping. Two concerns shared with the owner. One, the living room TV appears to be set up for Roku only, and we never were able to watch traditional, live cable TV on the main TV despite speaking to Northland Communications helpdesk. It took a while to figure out Roku, and we enjoyed some familiar shows that were recorded. The TV in the master bedroom was used more, and had live TV programming. There is no TV in the secondary room which we used for our teenagers. Second, I got to meet the Horseshoe Bay Fire Department chief by staying at this location. Not planned. Long story short, I called the owner to have the unit's thermostat fixed since the unit was too cold. First, an HVAC technician was dispatched to the unit and arrived early in the morning which posed an inconvenience to my family. After inspecting the unit, he said the thermostat and related equipment near the indoor hot water heater was not drawing enough electrical power. Later that same day, an electrician came to the unit, presenting more disruption as my family had to cut short a visit in Marble Falls with a friend so I could meet the electrician at the unit. He found a 120 volt wire loose, with cinged traces of that wire caused by arcing below, and told me it was a significant fire threat. Not comforting. When he pulled on the wire in question, the entire complex's fire alarm sounded; screeching alarms set off; lights blinked; occupants walked down the stairs as the elevator was disabled; and the Horseshoe Bay FD engine #11 was dispatched. The electrician and I talked to the FD and chief. The electrician fixed the faulty wire and declared the unit safe. The owner allowed us to stay beyond normal check-out time on Sunday, but insisted her unit was not the cause of the fire alarm. To this day, I disagree based on the report of the electrician. When I think of this unit, and complex, our family will forever remember the Horseshoe Bay FD and engine that visited us on Spring Break."

  • Winter Texans - 4 Month Rental

"My husband and I chose this lovely condo to spend the winter of 2015. We were there January-April. We are native Texans currently living in Illinois. We found the condo very comfortable. It felt like home. The view is gorgeous. Even though the lake is a little low we still enjoyed the relaxing view of all of the trees and water. Our Texas family visited us several weekends. It was fun to cook on the grill and relax on the comfy porch or in the condo. We also enjoyed the beautiful walking trails with our dog. That was obviously his favorite part of the trip. He looked forward to his walks each day. It was wonderful to travel to a location that welcomed our family pet. Since we were there in the winter the Beach Club was not open (with the exception of Spring Break.) If you visit during season it will be a wonderful place to relax with friends and family. The pools and spas are beautiful. We will definitely plan a trip back so that we can enjoy these great amenities. There is also a great workout room that you are free to use as a renter at The Hollows. And last but not least our two granddaughters (4 and 6) loved the playground by the beach club. We would walk down there and watch them play each time that they came out to see us. I would be remiss if I didn't mention what a great host that Erin is. She was responsive to every question or issue that we had. Everything was resolved immediately upon notification with grace. She has the kitchen stocked with anything that you need. Since we were there for four months we kept the pantry and refrigerator stocked and had plenty of room for everything. I have to add that one of our favorite accommodations for the condo was a wagon that we were able to use to bring our groceries and other shopping items up to the unit using the elevator. That was the icing on the cake. Since we were there for an extended stay we parked in the garage and the wagon was waiting for us at the return of each of our shopping trips. After we got home Erin visited the condo. She found several items that we had left and mailed them to us. We appreciated it so much. She also found a couple of pieces of our mail that arrived after we left and sent them too. Thanks Erin for sharing your condo with us."

  • 4 night stay in Hill Country

"The location is great. The cabin has plenty of room. The fire pit is awesome. The burn ban is off and there are no trees close by so the fire can be made nice and big. The heat in the cabin didn't distribute evenly. The kids were warm upstairs but the downstairs was quite chilly. Be prepared to bring any food items you need. There are no condiments at all, including oil or salt and pepper. There is no cell service (Verizon) which was more than OK with us. The cabin is super close to Garner SP and less than 30 minutes from Lost Maples SP. Billy Bobs liquor store in Leakey has a descent beer selection. Overall we had a great time."
