"We had a great time walking and riding our bikes all over Southtown and even into downtown. Our labs loved sitting on the side deck and the front porch watching the neighborhood activity. They were welcome at many of the neighborhood restaurant patios. They even swam in the river down by the boat ramp. First Friday was an interesting assortment of vendor booths and open galleries. We loved grilling dinner and playing games out on the deck into the evenings."

"The location is great. The cabin has plenty of room. The fire pit is awesome. The burn ban is off and there are no trees close by so the fire can be made nice and big. The heat in the cabin didn't distribute evenly. The kids were warm upstairs but the downstairs was quite chilly. Be prepared to bring any food items you need. There are no condiments at all, including oil or salt and pepper. There is no cell service (Verizon) which was more than OK with us. The cabin is super close to Garner SP and less than 30 minutes from Lost Maples SP. Billy Bobs liquor store in Leakey has a descent beer selection. Overall we had a great time."

"This cabin was simply amazing. The history added charm but the cabin accents, decor and layout were perfect for our girls weekend. The cabin had luxury style showers, kitchen and comfy beds. We loved the porches, horses, cattle and wildlife. All amenities you could want or need. Be prepared to know that the closest gas station is about 30 miles/minutes from the cabin as you enter Fredericksburg or Llano. The cabin is perfect for those who want privacy, a natural setting and cabin feel. If you're more interested in rolling out of bed and quickly walking town, grabbing a quick bite at a local restaurant or shopping....stay in town. Otherwise if a 30 minute drive into town is ok for you then you can't go wrong! Ashley was great from inquiry to our last day of our stay! Would stay again and recommend to the country at heart!"

"I stayed in this house for 7 weeks in January and February to get away from the Midwest winter. The house is in a great location, close enough to Austin yet not right in the midst of everything. The house itself was very comfortable and had everything I needed. I enjoyed sitting on the back patio in nice weather. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a stay in the Austin area."
