"My husband and I stayed here for a few nights before leaving on our honeymoon. The place was absolutely perfect and a nice quiet escape from everything. We loved the layout, the decor and yard space. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we could need to make us feel at home. We made good use of the wash/dryer, DVD collection, and outdoor grill. We look forward to coming back to stay again very soon. Sharon was really helpful and made the check-in and reservation process really simple. Far and away one of the best vacation rentals we've stayed at."

"We just returned from another great stay at this property. It was our 2nd stay in the past 6 months. We plan to return in the fall. "Lonesome Dove" is everything as advertised and maybe a little more."

Might just be the prettiest place in the Texas Hill Country
"I still can't believe this place exists. I've lived and worked and camped all across the hill country all my life and there is no other place like this one. The owners have spent 19 years grooming this property. On the mile of private river frontage there is zero cactus, no loose rock. Just giant elms and sycamore trees and smooth grass. The place looks like a park. You can play football along the river. There are hiking trails, off road trails, caves to explore, natural springs bubbling up out of the ground, campsites, lookouts, canyons, scavenger hunting maps, tree maps, shooting ranges. There is a magnificent lodge on the river. The San Saba river no less. In all the Texas Hill Country there is no prettier river than the San Saba. It's crystal clear. Everything was first rate - everything we needed was provided to us. You are 10 minutes from town but 1000 miles from stress. What an unbelievable property."
