  • prettier than the pictures!

"Thank you to Vicky for sharing this great cabin! The location is beautiful, peaceful, private, and secluded. The creek on the property was dry but I assumed it would be given the drought. Amenities were many and as described. Vicky called to make sure I was settled in and another time make arrangements for someone to come by to repair the dryer and clean out the fire pit. There was a small hole in the porch screen but I saw not a single bug take advantage of it. My dogs and I enjoyed taking daily drives and walks. Lost Maples State Park is nearby, as is a convenience store in Vanderpool. The best part of my stay was seeing the full moon rising over the hill. Gorgeous. I would definitely like to visit again and I would recommend the cabin to others especially if they have dogs. For those planning an extended stay and any serious cooking you might want to bring your own cookware. The few pots and pans that are provided are lightweight and the nonstick finish badly scratched and chipped. Also, where these are stored in the bottom cabinets is a cluttered, dark, and scary place."

  • Great Getaway from Cold Weather

"We spent three weeks in this condo during February and it was perfect for us. The condo was clean, the bed was very comfortable, all appliances and wi-fi worked perfectly. We traveled the Texas Hill Country including Fredericksburg which was a lot of fun. We also spent time in Austin and a day trip to San Antonio. The location of this unit served us well with our travel plans. We enjoyed using the fitness center as well as the walking trails throughout the development. This was our second time to stay in this condo and we will definitely return. The owners are very nice and very responsive to any questions."

  • Great stay at an amazing resort

"We had a wonderful time at the resort and used the amenities to the fullest. The poolside smokehouse was a big hit and we were the envy of the pool smoking a brisket all day. We chose to use the grills and the condo to cook. We have eaten at the beach club grill on past visits and the food was enjoyable. The condo was beautiful and well equipped. It suited our large party of 8 wonderfully. It had a great view off the balcony for an impressive fireworks show across the lake in Volente. Our owner was very pleasant and provided quick responses to our needs. The beach volleyball pit was great, just the sand was real hot! We all used the trail from the top of the hill to the pool area, and then did a workout in the fitness area on each day. If I had one drawback, DUE TO NO FAULT OF THE OWNER, it is the lack of parking at each set of condos. There are 9 units and only 4 usable spaces. A word of caution: DO NOT PARK ON THE WHITE STRIPED SPACE NEXT TO THE DISABLED PARKING unless you want to receive a very expensive ticket. :(. We love this resort and would rent again from her."

  • Amazing!!!!!!

"This place is incredible! My wife and I booked this trip as a last ditch effort to give our kids (7 yr old girl and 4 yr old boy) some entertainment before school resumes. We had a wonderful time! Pictures do not do this place justice! Everything was in beautiful condition and the owners were super friendly throughout the whole process. Hummingbirds, swallows, deer, and the biggest rabbits I have ever seen! Our kids were in heaven. We spent 2 nights here and about 90% of the time in the pool. I can't wait to go back to enjoy the property and explore! Not only did we have the best weekend in our young family's time together, but we now have a new aspiration! I am working my can off for a place like this! Truly an experience of a lifetime! Thank you so much for opening your home to our family and giving us memories we will never forget!"

Discover the Local Sights from Texas Hill Country Vacation Rentals

The area around Lake Buchanan is known for its local wineries which make for a fun day out. Tour the facilities, see the vines and learn the tricks of the trade. Finally, taste the produce in the tasting room and pick up a couple of bottles for the evening.

Head out and visit the Buchanan Dam which was the longest multiple-arch dam in the U.S. when it was built. Close by is the privately-owned lighthouse which can be seen as you drive along the south end of the lake. Dine out at one of the waterfront restaurants which provide steaks, fish, Mexican food and more, or take a scenic wilderness tour aboard one of the boats which offer two-hour trips along the historic Colorado River Canyon. They have two observation decks for spotting wildlife, bald eagles and the cascading waterfalls.

Kingsland is a small unincorporated town of about 5,600 residents. From here, you can hire a boat and sail up the Llano River. Just upstream from Kingsland, “the slab” is a popular gathering place on the sandy beach. The area is best known for its fields of bluebonnets which flower from March through May, and are a spectacularly beautiful sight.
