  • Wonderfully relaxing!

"My family stayed at your cabin for three days total. We were very impressed with how clean the house was. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen supplied everything we needed. The best part, in my opinion, were the yards. The back and the front are huge and neatly manicured. If I had to search for something imperfect, it would be the bathroom. I found it a bit small but clean and water pressure was terrific. Thank you so much for a very enjoyable vacation for my family!"

  • Highly recommend

"Our family of 5 adults and one toddler spent Christmas weekend at the perfectly located River View Guest House. I echo all the positive comments. We were enchanted by the rustic, authentic "Hill Country" charm of the home and the picturesque river view from several rooms. The common areas are spacious and comfortable. The well-equipped kitchen is also well designed, accommodating multiple cooks. Dining and relaxing in the sunroom overlooking the river was a highlight. I only wish our stay could have lasted longer. The homeowner is as delightful as the property and went out of her way to help me locate and retrieve something I left behind. We are most grateful to have had the opportunity to spend time in this lovely home."

  • Lovely and Private Place to Stay

"My family rented this property for Thanksgiving. We were blessed to have beautiful weather. The boat dock was very convenient and the private cove really made it that much more special. The kitchen was well stocked and very very accommodating for such a large holiday meal. The beds were comfy and everything was bright and cheery. We will definitely choose this property in the future next time family gets together. The Owners are very nice and accommodating as well."

  • Another Great Time at the Poco Loco

"This is our third or fourth time to stay at the Poco Loco Ranch with family and friends. This year we had a group of eight staying for three nights. As always, the grounds were beautiful and the accommodations were outstanding for our needs. It is only a few minutes into town for food and supplies, as well as numerous wineries within an hours drive. The owners are so gracious to assist us in numerous ways and so pleasant to deal with each time. Our entire group always enjoys the relaxing atmosphere as we take a few days to recharge our batteries as we return to our normal work lives. Thanks, Poco Loco for keeping us from going a little bit crazy!"

Lake Buchanan Vacation Houses Provide a Wide Variety of Things to Do

The wide open Lake Buchanan is surrounded by limestone and granite hills offering a host of different activities. Canyon cliffs and waterfalls provide some beautiful photographs and memories. Nature lovers will be able to watch herons, mallards and bald eagles. Fishing enthusiasts can hook trophy-sized bass, stripers and catfish. Swimming, sailing, boat trips, windsurfing, Jet Skiing and more can all be enjoyed from your Lake Buchanan lodging. Hike the trails, ride the zip line, or trek on horseback through the unspoiled natural surroundings. The Canyon of the Eagles Nature Park provides 940 acres of protected reserve which is home to many threatened and endangered birds. It is a great place for hiking and nature-spotting. For a change, head to one of the local towns for antiquing, gift shops and local restaurants.

Getting to Your Lake Buchanan Lodging Is Easy

Head out and visit the Buchanan Dam which was the longest multiple-arch dam in the U.S. when it was built. Close by is the privately-owned lighthouse which can be seen as you drive along the south end of the lake. Dine out at one of the waterfront restaurants which provide steaks, fish, Mexican food and more, or take a scenic wilderness tour aboard one of the boats which offer two-hour trips along the historic Colorado River Canyon. They have two observation decks for spotting wildlife, bald eagles and the cascading waterfalls.

Kingsland is a small unincorporated town of about 5,600 residents. From here, you can hire a boat and sail up the Llano River. Just upstream from Kingsland, “the slab” is a popular gathering place on the sandy beach. The area is best known for its fields of bluebonnets which flower from March through May, and are a spectacularly beautiful sight.
