  • Great stay at an amazing resort

"We had a wonderful time at the resort and used the amenities to the fullest. The poolside smokehouse was a big hit and we were the envy of the pool smoking a brisket all day. We chose to use the grills and the condo to cook. We have eaten at the beach club grill on past visits and the food was enjoyable. The condo was beautiful and well equipped. It suited our large party of 8 wonderfully. It had a great view off the balcony for an impressive fireworks show across the lake in Volente. Our owner was very pleasant and provided quick responses to our needs. The beach volleyball pit was great, just the sand was real hot! We all used the trail from the top of the hill to the pool area, and then did a workout in the fitness area on each day. If I had one drawback, DUE TO NO FAULT OF THE OWNER, it is the lack of parking at each set of condos. There are 9 units and only 4 usable spaces. A word of caution: DO NOT PARK ON THE WHITE STRIPED SPACE NEXT TO THE DISABLED PARKING unless you want to receive a very expensive ticket. :(. We love this resort and would rent again from her."

  • Wonderful month!

"My husband and I spent a month at this condo, and it couldn't have been more perfect for us. I'm sure the area is a pretty busy place in the summer, but in January & February, it provided the quiet, peace and seclusion in a warm place that we wanted. I thought it would be hard to stay someplace for a month, but at the end of our stay, it was hard to leave! The condo had everything we could have wanted--a fully equipped kitchen, super comfortable bed, wonderful living room, etc, plus it was beautifully decorated. We particularly loved the western exposure of the porch, where we spent many afternoons enjoying the warm sun. We used the well-appointed exercise room at the Beach Club a few times, but mostly preferred the outdoor walking trails. The location of the condo worked well for us, and we spent a number of days exploring areas within 1-2 hours of the west side of Austin. The condo owner was wonderful to work with--very accommodating, professional and thoughtful. We highly recommend this condo and owner."

  • Wonderful Stay

"Six adults and two young kids stayed in Deer Tracks for two nights in October. Just as other reviewers have commented, the property has a FANTASTIC view of the Hill Country from the upper deck. Although it is only 1,700 SF, the bedrooms, dining room, family room, etc. are big enough to accommodate our entire party. The house backs up to an open wooded area with no fences, so the view from the first floor was also very pleasing. You can walk down directly into the woods from the back patio. We saw three deer in the “backyard” while eating lunch on the lower patio and the kids were excited! We love the quiet hill-top location of the house, with only one neighboring house on one side. Across the street is the smokehouse with several public charcoal grills, which we didn’t use as the house already has a gas grill on the patio. The Smokehouse Summit Trail, one of many in the community, is just a few steps away from the house. Both of the kids (6 and 3) completed the trail and had fun. The Hollows is a very large but well maintained community. We spent some time at the Beach Club (the lady from the restaurant was very helpful) as well as the Marina. Not much to do at the Marina unless you rent a boat from one of the places across the lake, but the lake level was depressingly low when we were there. The owner of the property, Diane, was very responsive and helpful. She responded to all our phone calls or e-mails in a timely manner. Overall we are very happy with the stay and will definitely come back in the future."

Jonestown Travel Tips

Book Jonestown Vacation Rentals on the Lake

Jonestown, Texas is the "Gateway to the Hill Country." No matter what you love about Texas hill country, you can do it in Jonestown. This quiet community isn't the top vacation destination in Texas, but its charm and location make it a perfect spot to stop. Jonestown vacation houses that overlook the lake bring you a peaceful, serene feeling during your stay, and staying so close to the lake makes it easy to get outside and have some fun in the sun.

Wonderful Water Activities on Lake Travis Lure You In

At the North end of Lake Travis, Jonestown offers the same recreational activities you'll find in other communities. Boating, fishing, tubing, and water skiing are possible when you hit the lake. Jones Brother's Park in Jonestown has a huge waterfront public area where you can launch your boat on one of two boat ramps; you can also play on the playground or play in the open area with a Frisbee or a kite.

Honor the Troops at Veterans Memorial Park

Texas Hill Country lodging on FM1431 means you're staying near Veterans Memorial Park. The park is dedicated to those who have served the United States of America, and it features a beautiful bronze statue of a young soldier. The soldier is waiting to return home to his loved ones, and the title of the sculpture is "Going Home."

Commute to Austin

Traveling for work isn't always fun, but you can turn it into a vacation if you bring your family along and stay in Jonestown. This quiet community is only 20 miles northwest of Austin, so you can easily access everything you need in the city then come home at night to the rest of your family on vacation. Texas Hill Country lodging in Jonestown will be significantly less expensive then vacation homes in Austin because of the location, meaning you can save money when you vacation in Jonestown.
