  • 4 night stay in Hill Country

"The location is great. The cabin has plenty of room. The fire pit is awesome. The burn ban is off and there are no trees close by so the fire can be made nice and big. The heat in the cabin didn't distribute evenly. The kids were warm upstairs but the downstairs was quite chilly. Be prepared to bring any food items you need. There are no condiments at all, including oil or salt and pepper. There is no cell service (Verizon) which was more than OK with us. The cabin is super close to Garner SP and less than 30 minutes from Lost Maples SP. Billy Bobs liquor store in Leakey has a descent beer selection. Overall we had a great time."

  • prettier than the pictures!

"Thank you to Vicky for sharing this great cabin! The location is beautiful, peaceful, private, and secluded. The creek on the property was dry but I assumed it would be given the drought. Amenities were many and as described. Vicky called to make sure I was settled in and another time make arrangements for someone to come by to repair the dryer and clean out the fire pit. There was a small hole in the porch screen but I saw not a single bug take advantage of it. My dogs and I enjoyed taking daily drives and walks. Lost Maples State Park is nearby, as is a convenience store in Vanderpool. The best part of my stay was seeing the full moon rising over the hill. Gorgeous. I would definitely like to visit again and I would recommend the cabin to others especially if they have dogs. For those planning an extended stay and any serious cooking you might want to bring your own cookware. The few pots and pans that are provided are lightweight and the nonstick finish badly scratched and chipped. Also, where these are stored in the bottom cabinets is a cluttered, dark, and scary place."

  • Another great trip

"This was our third annual summer vacation to this Frio River house. The water was lower this year but it didn't prevent us from having another fabulous visit. We enjoyed every minute and looking forward to coming again next year."

  • Exceptional Property & Home!

"This is the vacation location that the family will always remember. Big open living areas * Windows with gorgeous private hill country views * Kitchen supplied with every need and convenience * Spacious bedroom arrangements upstairs for cozy sleep and more together times * Wonderful fireplace for a perfect fall or winter day * The great outdoors of hills, trees, a pond and a yard to play ... the owners are exceptionally kind and accommodating and their home is maintained with obvious care and attention to detail. In our party there were 4 adults and 5 children and we all were very glad to make our 2nd visit earlier this year. (It was so nice to see "Children Welcome" in the listing information.) Did i mention the wrap around covered porches both upstairs and down? Fantastic, especially on a rainy day! Thank you to the owners for allowing us this time to play, reflect and appreciate God's creation!"
