  • Repeat Customer - Happy Again!

"My friends and I rented the property 3 years ago and loved it so much, we did it again. Our most recent stay was a huge success and the float trip as well. Working with the property owner, who is very responsive, we planned a 4 hour float trip with round trip transportation just minutes away from the property. A float upstream and finishing at the residence is also a good option, as the scenery and water is beautiful. The home is "move in ready" and has all the amenities, including charcoal for the grill, right at your finger tips. You will not be disappointed!"

  • Quiet Beautiful Country Home

"My family and I stayed here for a weekend to celebrate an early Christmas together. My daughter loved the ponies, goats, deer, and cats. My mother-in-law loved the kitchen, which was beautiful, well-outfitted, and a pleasure to cook and bake in. My father-in-law loved the beautiful, quiet, property. And my husband loved having a fun get-away as a family. The house was quintessentially Texas Hill Country charm including the friendly and helpful owner, Margie. We highly recommend this is you are needing a place to stay in New Braunfels."

  • Small but perfect house on the river

"The owner helped us reserve the property the day before we decided to come. Everything was taken care of when we arrived and the house was just as described. One room has two queen beds so great for friends! It was one of the best weekday prices we could find directly on the river. I recommend for a relaxed time with family or friends and we would definitely return!"

New Braunfels Travel Tips

A slice of old Germany situated in the center of Texas hill country, New Braunfels is truly a destination like no other in America. Located 40 miles south of Austin between the capital and San Antonio, New Braunfels is easily accessible. Founded by a German prince with a group of farmers and craftsman in 1845, the town has been built around charm and hospitality and boasts an undeniably unique history, making it a perfect vacation destination for families, friends and couples alike.

New Braunfels Attractions

If you're heading to the Lone Star State for your next vacation, then New Braunfels should definitely be on your list of places to visit. Infused with German culture since the day of its founding, the area regularly hosts events and cultural experiences like Wurstfest, a celebration of German culture with an emphasis on food and beer. Needless to say, this event makes a phenomenal destination for food lovers from all over.

Held on the banks of the Comal River, Wurstfest attracts visitors from all over the country, and the delectable Bavarian sausage, treats and beer are the main stars of the show. Spanning the course of 10 days in early November, the festival features fantastic cuisine, traditional Bavarian performances (yes, there will be polka) and carnival rides for the kids. If you're heading to New Braunfels in the autumn, try to plan your trip around the festival so that you and the family won't miss out on the fun. Just remember to look well in advance for lodging, as the town tends to pack out during this event.

Things to Do in New Braunfels

In addition to all of the exciting German events New Braunfels offers, it also boasts a ton of ways to have fun on the open water. With multiple rivers and lakes all within a short drive of the Texan town, fun in the sun is never hard to find for tourists or residents on a hot day. Whether you're looking to raft down river rapids with friends or take in a modern water park, New Braunfels is best seen with a swimsuit and sunscreen.

New Braunfels is the home to an award winning waterpark, the aptly named Schlitterbahn. Get ready for thrills, because with rides like the Master Blaster, Black Knight and Wolfpack, there's going to be plenty of adrenaline to go around. If you'd rather kick back, you can even rent your own cabana, don your shades and work on your tan. The party doesn't stop when the sun goes down either, as the Schlitterbahn hosts movie nights and an arcade - perfect for a family night out.

Nature lovers will feel right at home in the Texas Hill Country, particularly in New Braunfels. Just slightly outside of the city you can find Tube Haus, a river rafting and tubing outfitter that can help you strap on a life jacket, get comfortable on inner tubes and safely coast along the Guadalupe River with ease. Try floating the "Horseshoe Loop" one of the most famous and scenic routes around the area due to the fantastic views offered as you float lazily along its course. Float trips can take between two and five hours, depending on what route you ultimately decide on. Adult beverages are allowed on the river, so long as it isn't being stored in a glass container, so remember to bring along something cold to enjoy while you're afloat.
