  • Rest at the gateway

"The minute I walked through the door, I felt such a sweet refreshing peace. The cottage is saturated with the presence of God. As I walked through the cottage or just sat on the couch, God was constantly downloading revelation from His heart. Such an awesome place to get away for a weekend. To stop and listen. And to just be still."

  • Relaxing, Texas-Decor, Great Owner

"Thank you so much for the wonderful stay at your home in Abilene. The photos are great, but they don't quite do justice to the house. The property was spotlessly clean. The yard was well-maintained. The linens on the super comfie beds were delightfully soft and fresh. Our whole family really enjoyed the lovely pool under the shade of tall trees. We loved the "lap lane" in the pool and the big, soft beach towels by the back door. We were looking for a way to relax and reconnect with our kids for a few days, and this home had it all. The fun, Texas decor, books, comfortable furniture, space, flatscreen TVs, and games made us never want to leave the house. The gourmet kitchen allowed us to cook yummy meals and enjoy them as a family. We did wish that we'd had access to a grill, but the other benefits to the fabulous kitchen outweighed that for us. The house was located in an older neighborhood with a mixture of BEAUTIFULLY restored homes and more modest older homes. We would have loved to have known some of the history of this house. The fixtures, stairway, front door, etc were absolutely gorgeous. The owner was patient, kind, helpful, available, and a pleasure to work with. We would definitely return and/or recommend the house to others. Thanks again for a relaxing, rejuvenating stay."

  • My place to stay in Lubbock

"I've stayed at the Lone Oak a few other times with work associates in town on business and it has always been a great experience. This time I brought my family as we passed through Lubbock on vacation. The house was clean and comfortable as usual and met the needs of my family (parents, wife and two young children) as it has in the past. The street is quite, but accessible to most everything as it is 2-3 minutes from the loop and 5-6 minutes from Martha Sharp Freeway which can put you at the mall, Texas Tech or downtown very quickly. This time we took advantage of the washer/dryer with supplied detergent to keep our packing to a minimum. Thanks for another great stay! We'll be back."

  • Feels like home

"My family and my sister's family stayed here two weeks ago. We got this house because it offerred the second story loft area which we felt would allow the kids a place to play. The house was clean and the a/c worked great...two important features. The patio was nice and we sat out there in the mornings and evenings to enjoy the cool breeze. We will be staying again!"
