  • Great escape!!! Very relaxing!

"What a wonderful place! We secured the cabin for the BIG BASS tournament! Made things SO much easier! This would also be a great place for friends or family to just come out and chill!! Donna is awesome and right next door if you need anything-but we didn't! Carter cabin is comfortable and will remind you of going to your grandparent's cabin on the lake! While the husband went fishing, we gals spent hours walking the neighborhood looking for mountain lions but only saw deer and many different types of birds - so peaceful!!! Donna and her properties are an east Texas treasure! Thank you DP for a terrific time and wonderful memories!"

  • WONDERFUL BACKYARD VACATION

"For the last two vacations Paw Paw and I have taken the grands on the vacations of their choosing. This year we decided to spend a little quiet time to ourselves and a little closer to home. This location was PERFECT! We fished everyday- starting at daybreak, resting through the heat of the day then back at it around sunset. We got some beautiful sunset photos from the dock during our stay and the fishing was wonderful. We stood on the deck each evening and watched deer as they visited us and the adjoining properties. There were even a couple of small fawns with the group of ten or so deer who seemed to have very little fear as they watched us watching them between their frolicking and snacking. The cabin was very well maintained and true to its description. Everything we needed as far as kitchen items was available. It was even stocked with plenty of laundry, bathroom and kitchen sundries (although we brought our own). Even though the owners were out of town, they provided us with a contact person who was very nice and helpful in answering our questions. He even found us some life vests to use in the canoe or paddle boat if we chose to go out. One evening we road through town and visited the spillway, surrounding area and Lone Star. We didn't eat out at all because we had brought along more than enough food for the stay. Between this and our trips to obtain live fishing bait, our activities were limited to the dock on the lake and the football games! Very restful and calming indeed. We have told all our family and co-workers about this rental unit and have given them the website address. Thanks Phil for the wonderful home away from home and an atmosphere that definitely what we were looking for. Hopefully we will get to spend another "backyard" vacation in your rental and bring the grands along."

  • Awesome property

"Our group of 14 classmates Class of '66 had the best time ever. The home was so much more than expected. From the grand entrance to the fresh tulips in the den, it was amazing. Plenty of room for our group. The large kitchen was filled with all the utensils we needed. A second frig in the garage came in handy too. The bed linens and mattresses were first class, with plenty of towels for all of us. The back porches with all the seating made for long hours of visiting. The dock and cabana were comfy too. It was very peaceful and quiet. The whole home was spotless, attention to detail was obvious. The owner worked with us very well. We highly recommend this home. I just wish I had a master bedroom like that one at my home, my favorite room."

  • Fantastic 4th of July!!!

"The Lake House and boat dock were great! It was beyond all of our expectations, especially the fishing right from the dock. We spent 90% of our time on the dock with convenience of satellite TV, fishing, grilling, sunning and swimming right at our fingertips. The kids enjoyed the hot tub! We had not just one, but two, fabulous nights of fireworks viewable right from the convenience of the boat dock. The family games, puzzles, movies and wifi were a great bonus! We are already planning our return trip!!"
