"I have lived in Texas all of my life and never knew we had such a treasure as Lake Sam Rayburn. And then, to find this BEAUTIFUL, COMFORTABLE home was another treasure found. My family, inclusive of my husband, 17-year-old son, 20-year-old daughter, her 20-year-old boyfriend and my brother, THOROUGHLY enjoyed our stay at this home. Not only was it all updated in the bathrooms, appliances and decor, such a comfortable home was created in this house that made us never want to leave. The view from the deck from morning to sunset was always ASTOUNDING and PEACEFUL! All of the amenities offered with kayaks, canoe, floats, boat tube ride plus more was such a treat, too. Our son kayaked almost every day to the nearby islands. Yes, ISLANDS, in this beautiful, clean pristine lake. Everything you could want or need was provided by this home and homeowners. The only problem I have is that I cannot get our family back there quick enough, but we will DEFINITELY be back. Thank you to these homeowners for offering every hospitality we could have asked for. What a gift you give others by sharing this lovely home and beautiful location with the rest of the world. MANY, MANY THANKS!"

"This lakefront cabin provides the essentials for a pleasant vacation at a fair price. The cabin also comes with a canoe and a small boat, which were critical for us as the dock was unreachable from land due to high lake levels. That's a good problem to have, no complaints, but if you're expecting to walk out onto a dock you may want to research first. It was easy enough to launch the boat from land, as there is a set of stone steps descending to the water.
The large master bedroom is on the first floor, with a full bathroom attached. The other bedrooms are at the top of a steep set of stairs, and you must pass through one bedroom (with a full bed) to reach the second bedroom (two twin mattresses on floor-level frames). This setup was not a problem for us, but renters with small children, mobility issues, or privacy needs should be aware.
Each room has its own A/C unit on the wall, so individual preferences can be accommodated. The second bathroom is off of the living area, with a clothes dryer (but no washer, as stated in the property description). The living area is quite large and the deck is ample - we enjoyed using both. The kitchen is adequate for simple meals, and there is a charcoal grill available. We brought our own deep fryer and were pleased to catch enough fish to need it!
Regarding food, there is a WalMart Neighborhood Market in the town of Lone Star, the closest location to pick up fresh grocery items. For eating out, we highly recommend Five D Cattle Co. in Avinger for a great dinner. They take reservations, and are willing to split meals between diners.
As many reviewers have stated, the sunsets here are lovely!"

"Great vacation home! The home was clean, linens and towels freshly washed, and everything was ready for our arrival. The house provided plenty of space and was perfect for our group as the children could all stay together downstairs and my husband & I were able to stay upstairs in the master bedroom. The three bedrooms and three full baths ensured everyone had enough space during our stay. We spent the majority of our time swimming at the dock and out in the boat. (It was great to have a boathouse to keep our boat in). We spent the evenings fishing & caught several nice 2-3 lb. catfish from the dock. The owners are quite attentive to our needs and eager to please. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again. Thanks for sharing your home."

"Great home in the beautiful woods of East Texas. Our deer lease is 1.4 miles from the home so we are so pleased to have this beautiful home to stay in. It's perfect for a relaxing weekend even if you aren't hunting. Beautiful property on a hill with Texas pines all around. It's really an great home to come home to! 5 stars for sure!"
