  • My wife and I stayed for a month.

"Very spacious townhome with extremely large master bedroom containing spa and fireplace. Very convenient to club house (meals, exercise facility, pools). Located in a very secure gated community."

  • Just what we were looking for.

"My wife and I rented the cabin on short notice and this was just the rest and relaxation we were looking for. Very clean, very comfortable, and nice and quiet. Good fishing. The deck off the back of the cabin was perfect for grilling and looking out over the lake. Also made our way to a great place to eat fried catfish and gumbo, just across the TX/LA border, only a few miles drive. There's some really nice back roads to make it into a leisurely sightseeing drive. Highly recommend if you are looking to get away and relax in a quiet atmosphere."

  • Quiet Retreat

"We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to East Texas and to the Cozy Cottage. We would go sight-seeing during the early part of the day (hiking at Lake Livingston State Park and trails in the Big Thicket Nature Preserve) and spend the later part of the afternoon and evening at the cottage. It is so relaxing and peaceful and there is so much wildlife to see. 2 alligators went swimming by the dock (my husband was so excited) and many different kinds of birds. We had the best luck fishing at night (after the turtles went to the bank) and caught some catfish! The kitchen has everything that you could possibly need to cook meal and there is an extensive movie selection. It was exactly what we needed! :)"

  • Much needed get-a-way

"This is a lovely cabin. It is clean, and very nicely furnished. The beds are comfy too. Its location makes it easy to visit several small towns nearby. Jefferson is especially interesting. Lots of history, in addition to antiques and shopping. There are 2 marinas nearby to rent boats and deal with fishing needs. T The kitchen was fully equipped, just bring your food. We ate every meal out, and found lots of fun and different places to eat in Jefferson. Donna was right next door if we needed anything, but we didn't. The area is very quiet, and we saw deer almost every day. There is Direct TV for those who can not miss their favorite shows. I would like to have a family get together here in the future, so I would recommend this cabin."

No Shortage of Things to Do from Piney Woods Lodging

You can camp, hike, bike, swim, boat, sail, bird watch, or simply enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Lake O The Pines fishing is a great catch. Several varieties of catfish and bass, as well as crappie and sunfish, can be found in these waters. You can drive about twenty minutes to nearby historic Jefferson where the antique shopping is popular for good reason. The Texas Wildflower Trail has some routes in the area that are an explosion of color in spring. Bring a picnic and stop along one of the flowery vistas for lunch.

Gamble Your Troubles Away from Lake O The Pines Vacation Houses

Nearby Shreveport is a little over an hour away from your Lake O The Pines vacation rental. In this Louisiana city known for gambling, you can choose from the dozens of casinos and resorts. Flash some cash if you've got it—or want to pretend like you do—at one of the famed riverboat casinos for southern hospitality and flair. Sam's Town Hotel and Casino is a riverboat establishment worth checking out for the atmosphere as much as the gaming.
