  • Very nice, would stay again.

"Beautiful spot, easy access on a good road, friendly owners, comfortable bed. 20 minutes to fun little town of Avinger with neat stores and great hometown steakhouse. 30 minutes to Jefferson with tons to do. We took the mule-drawn carriage ride - fantastic. Cabin is clean and in good condition. Plenty of seating for a big group. We sat on the deck and watched the deer in the front yard and sat on the dock and watched the pelicans and fall foliage. Fantastic! Only less-than-perfects: It's not really secluded like it appears in the photos. Owners live next door, you're sort of surrounded by their outbuildings. The heater/AC is terribly confusing...well, really it was just the explanation of how to operate it that was confusing. Anything that complicated needs to be written down. It was so noisy that it woke us up, so we turned it off anyway and just used extra blankets. So, pretty much no complaints. We will definitely stay again."

  • Wonderful home and great lake views!

"Our family spent a wonderful week at Lake Sam Rayburn. This home is beautiful and had a great floor plan for our family of 4 plus grandparents. We spent a lot of our time on the back porch/deck, relaxing and cooking out. The lake is perfect for swimming here as it has a gradual descent and no big drop off. The homeowner was great to work with and kept in touch to make sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend this home to others and hope to visit again soon."

  • A blessed weekend.

"My husband and I had an amazingly peaceful time at the Lakehouse. He took plenty of walks around the property and has flooded Facebook with movies of them. - Visiting with the cattle and guineys, watching the egrets and bulls from the porch was such a peaceful experience. We were blessed to have a grand show of heat lightening accompanied by a chorus of tree frogs on Saturday night. We never left the property. The listing and photos do not begin to show the charm and cleanliness of the property. The landscaping and gardens were immaculate and a feast for the eye. Paula was most helpful answering our questions and left instructions for us on how to operate the TV/DVD/Cable which were quite useful. We were very pleased with the free range eggs that were provided for us and only wish we had asked for more to bring home. I would recommend this property to all of my friends, family and acquaintances. We are looking forward to many returns. Thanks for the hospitality."
