  • Great place to fish from

"This property is excellent for the fisherman. It is located literally next door to the Hwy 515 boat ramp within an easy run to Glade, Running Creek and all the other good fishing spots up in the Caney arm of the lake. The property is mostly hidden from the road by a metal building and is on a short dead end road, so we felt safe and didn't have any issues at all with theft. The driveway backs directly into the carport from the street, no tricky curves or angles other than the initial 90 degree backing off of the road. I was able to park my 21 ft ranger fully under the carport without having to lower the powerpole or trim the motor down at all. There is an outlet right beside the parking which makes for easy charging, don't need to bring a long extension cord at all. The owner has plenty of half bricks which make great wheel chocks. It is perfect for someone like me who really doesn't enjoy the crowded motels and marinas with cramped parking and people standing around their boats all night talking loudly. It was cemetery quiet at night. If your significant other doesn't like to fish, this is much for peaceful than one of the marina motels. True, the water is down right now, but I was able to pull my boat to within a few yards of the boathouse and use the golf cart to go back and forth from the house during the day. The grade into the cove from the ramp parking is so steep that people at the boat ramp can't see your boat. I will be glad to book this property again when I am headed over."

  • Home away from home

"Came to town for a creative conference at the Palace Theater in Grapevine and thought staying in a house rather than a hotel might provide some nice conveniences. We were right! With 6 women, there was more than enough space for everyone to not feel cramped and to get a good night's rest. The location was unbelievably convenient only 5 minutes from the airport and the downtown Main Street area. If you were so inclined, you could walk. There was plenty of parking for multiple vehicles, a keyless entry in case your group wants to split up and plenty of kitchenware should you want to stay in. I would highly recommend a stay at the Merlot House to anyone visiting Grapevine!"

  • Great place for a family getaway

"This was our third time at Lake Lewisville. As usual the house was great with a really nice kitchen. The bedrooms are large and you can't beat the early morning views."

  • Short but fun

"We arrived on Monday the 10th to meet the owner and get keys. There had been an issue with plumbing and pipes freezing (hard winter this year), but the owner had already found it and called out the plumber, the issue was resolved and we didn't notice any impact to our trip. The house was nice, everything we needed, patio was awesome, great place to hang out with a great view. Doc was nice, but he ducks (tis that season) had left a pretty good mess if you know what I mean. It needed to be power washed and I'm sure something they have to fight every year with the ducks coming in for the winter. We had to cut our trip short unfortunately but would definatly consider this house again for another trip."
