  • A Fisherman's Dream!!

"The cabin was just as nice as the owner! It was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet and tucked away for a very peaceful weekend of fishing and birdwatching. We were able to launch our kayak's right from the bank (Muck boots came in handy since the water's edge is marshy), and kayak fished to our heart's content. Believe me, this part of the lake is packed with fish. If you like to fish, this place is a dream. The cabin is roomy and clean, with all the cooking utensils we needed for a good ole' fish fry. We will be back for sure!!!"

  • Guy's Weekend

"I put together a guy's weekend for a buddy of mine who is getting married in March who had asked for a low-key weekend where we could do some fishing and hang out. This was the perfect place for that! From the moment you walk in to the house seeing the kitchen, dining room and living room to walking to the back of the house and seeing the view of the lake was amazing. There was plenty of room to accommodate 7 grown men for 3 days. From the very beginning of booking the property to the end of getting my deposit, the owners (Mark and Misty) answered all my questions and concerns very quickly and responded to me within a few hours of my email to them. They provided information about the house via email and then there's a very informative binder which includes everything that was sent in the email, menus of the different restaurants in the area and a bug and snake catalogue of the most common critters around. A word to the wise, to get to the house, use the provided map that they send as Google maps wasn't very much help. The lake is currently around 7' low and we could not fish from the boat house. However, we were still able to fish by walking around the boat house and fishing from the sandy pebbled beach area --->where the water is suppose to be :). We didn't bring a boat with us but the depth of the lake in that cove still gets pretty deep only a few yards out and we were able to catch a fair amount of bass while we were down there using minnows and rubber worms. I was pretty shocked by that considering we rented the house in the middle of February! During the evenings, the outside fire place was the place to be! To me, there's nothing better than having a fire going, grilling food, listening to music using their provided stereo system with outdoor speakers and telling stories of our past. To sum things up, this was a great experience from the beginning to the end. This is an ideal place to get away from the city and your everyday life to enjoy the outdoors and fishing. Just far enough away from Dallas to feel like your in the country, but close enough to get home in a couple of hours to get home and get ready for the next work week. I would definitely would recommend this house to family and friends and would eventually like to get out there again to do it all over again."

  • Excellent Rental

"This vacation rental is fabulous! It was very clean with kitchen pots/pans, plates, coffee cups w/coffee, glassware, sheets, linens, and pillows provided. Every thing mentioned in the description is exactly how it is. There is one screened in porch so you do not have to deal with bugs. You can see the lake from the porch which is not far away. A grill was provided on the unscreened porch which is also very large. There were 10 people that stayed with plenty of room for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again and would recommend if you are looking for a very clean 5-star location. The owners, Bill and Sandy are great to work with making sure you have everything you need for a great stay."

  • Great fishing spot

"The lake house if fully furnished and the property manager, Becky, will go above and beyond to help with questions about the area or should a problem arise. We had an issue with the dvd player not working when we arrived back at the lake house at 8:15 p.m. Becky brought a new one over within 15 minutes of my call to her, which to me is outstanding service! The beds are super comfortable and the oversized arm chairs in the living room are very cozy. A couple of small suggestions though would be to include small waste baskets in each of the bathrooms and a toaster in the kitchen. The only reason I did not rate this lake house 5 stars is due to not having wifi available. We literally booked last minute and did know this prior to booking. My husband has a work phone with AT&T service that he brought knowing it would work in that area for emergencies, so we able to at least make calls to family. We just were not able to use our smart phones or laptops. Overall, great location and good value for the money."
