  • Great Stay for BMT Graduation

"We booked this home for our visit to see our son's graduation from Basic Military Training at Lackland. We had been told that he would want a comfortable place to just hang out so we thought a home would be better than a hotel. We were concerned about the 30 minute drive from the Base but it turned out to be a really easy route and the time talking to our son on the drive was nice. The commute wasn't bad at all. Traffic wasn't a problem and it is very convenient to the airport. The home itself was wonderful. They just upgraded much of the furniture and it was beautiful. The couch is comfortable enough (extra long) for someone to use as a bed. The table easily sits 7 and there is another table that can fit 2-3 more for nice family meals. The beds and linens were very comfortable. Lots of extra pillows. Loved that! The description said there was an XBOX, but there wasn't. They had just upgraded to a new flat screen TV in the family room, which was great but there wasn't a DVD player in it or available. That should be added. Used our laptop and enjoyed several movie nights there. The pool is not close by. You have to drive to it. It should probably not be included as an amenity or that should be clearly specified. There is a train track nearby but it doesn't whistle as it passes so we never heard it. There is a Walmart nearby for easy grocery stocking. The freezer struggled to keep things frozen and make ice. You make want to check into that. This house made my Airman feel right at home. It was exactly what he wanted for that weekend. It had enough space for us to comfortably lounge and just enjoy each other's company. The kitchen was stocked so that we could make his favorite meals. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! We would definitely come back to this house again and highly recommend it for military families."

  • Great place to stay in trendy part of San Antonio

"My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. The location in the King William district is ideal, with great proximity to cafes, restaurants, art galleries, the River Walk and downtown. We loved the area and were able to go on many evening walks. As for the apartment: the amenities left nothing to be desired and my husband and I agree that the bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept. Everybody, from owner to building manager, was exceptionally pleasant, responded quickly to all of our requests and did their best to make us feel at home. We feel that they definitely went beyond the call of duty (e.g. helping us with car trouble). We would recommend these apartments most highly!"

  • Suited Us Perfectly

"I stayed in this house just a few weeks before the person who left a really bad, one-star review. The owner sent it to me to look over and I have to say that I’m really sorry I hadn’t already written one of my own, because mine would have been a good one! Nothing in the review reflected my experience. Sure, the washer and dryer were old, but they worked and we were glad to have them. Other than that, we loved the atmosphere of the house and we were charmed by it, even though the guest after us apparently thinks we’re idiots for that! This house was just “posh” enough for us to feel like we were getting an upscale vacation but not so fancy that we weren’t comfortable living in the space. It really kind of broke my heart when I read that review, because we loved this place so much! The neighbors are friendly and everybody was very helpful. My son-in-law works in technology and he used the wi-fi so he could keep up with work. My daughter and I cooked together at the house twice, and we grilled once, although most of the time we enjoyed walking to all the restaurants that are nearby. It was do nice to be able to just park the car and walk. The weather was great so we just sat outside under the tree and talked. My daughter and I had breakfast on the deck in the mornings, but my husband’s favorite spot (other than the television) was on the front porch. He sat out there every morning to drink his coffee and every evening to have a beer with my son in law. I think he got to know every neighbor on the street from his perch. For a week this house was more than “home base.” We felt it was our home."
