Incredible cabin, great location, the kids loved it!!!
"Our stay in the Papa Bear Lodge was absolutely incredible. The property met and exceeded our expectations. It was clean, spacious, and perfect for a large group. The kids loved all of the fun amenities (foosball, pool, playground, playroom, theater), and it was large enough that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other all weekend. The kitchen was great for preparing large meals and was very well equipped. The property manager was on top of things, and was there to greet us when we arrived.
The beach was close enough to walk to, wasn't rocky like some of the other beaches we've been to at bear lake, and had the very gradual downslope that makes it great for younger kids and parents trying to corral the kids. We also ended up doing several other fun activities that were a short drive away, including hiking and horseback riding. We rented waverunners and paddleboards on the south end of the lake because were were late in the season and all but 1 location had shut down, but I saw a rental location just north of the cabin that was very close and convenient, and had only closed the Saturday prior. Even then it was only a 10 minute drive to get to the beach on the South end.
If you're after one of the famous bear lake shakes, I'd try the Chevron gas station on Hwy 89 just as you come into Garden City. Yes, the gas station. It's about 3 minutes from the cabin.
The only issue we had (and it was minor) was that the fire pit in the backyard is gas, which is super convenient, but doesn't get as hot as a wood fire, so cooking over it (hot dogs, s'mores) doesn't have quite the same results.
We had no issues with booking or payment. We had to change our arrival date, and they re-booked us without any issues.
We are definitely planning to use this place again, possibly a weekend during the winter as it's just a great "getaway" location."

"Our large extended family loved our stay at this incredible home. The view was breathtaking and there was so much space to spread out and enjoy each other's company. The kids, young and old, enjoyed playing pool, ping pong, basketball, video games and watching movies. The little ones loved using the slide to get from the top floor on down. The home was comfortable and clean. There was plenty of parking for one and all. We were close enough to downtown Garden City and only 15-20 minutes from the great North Beach. We appreciated having 2 ovens, 5 washers and dryers and the large pantry. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! We would come back again in a heartbeat!"

"I love the location and size for the price. This was our 2nd summer visit to this house. We have young children so it was so nice in the late afternoon/evenings to walk either to the local park just a block or so away in one direction, walk to get dinner & shakes a couple of blocks in the other direction in Garden City, or watch fireworks from the porch. We had plenty of beds to each get our own. The beaches are within 5-20 minute drive away. The only negative things were no Wi-Fi, no Cable, & the creaking floors Lol. If anyone had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, the floors were waking somebody up haha. On the flipside, as a wife & mom it was nice to have my husband & children "unplugged" :)"

"We rented the Cabin Overlooking the Harbor in June 2015. The cabin was very nice, was stocked with everything we needed, and had a wonderful view of the lake. We had 23 people there and were pretty filled up. It would be very cramped for 30 people to stay there! The kitchen is very small for feeding a large group,so thank goodness for the deck and the tables out there! The driveway is steep but we managed it and had sufficient room for our cars, plus there is an overflow parking area for extra cars and the boats. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the closeness of the beach and lake.
The rental agreement mentions fees for smoking, pet problems, physical damage, and lost keys, but there is no mention of a late fee for being on the premises after 10:00 am. on check-out day. Nevertheless, we were charged a late fee even though we left the cabin soon after 10:00 am and in no way hindered or impeded the cleaning personnel who arrived at 10:10. So be prepared to be charged a surprise late fee if you are still in the cabin at 10:01!!"
