"My family has been going on vacations to various national parks for almost 30 years, so we have stayed in a lot of different accommodations from hotels to cabins to rented homes. This was the best place we have ever stayed.
The home itself was spotlessly clean and orderly. It felt home-like with nice furnishings and decorations (not bare and empty) but not cluttered or like you were trying to live around all of the owner's personal possessions (for example, we've stayed in other homes where you can't use the closets because the owners have locked them to keep their stuff safe). There was not a single thing that was broken or worn out. The furniture and beds were comfortable, the linens were wonderfully soft, and the kitchen was FULLY stocked. Tracy also provided laundry detergent, Ziploc bags, foil, plastic wrap, and various ingredients like oils, spices, and sugar, which cut down on the amount of stuff we had to pack or buy.
The home is also a beautiful place, inside and out. We loved spending time on the balcony, relaxing on the couch while taking in the view out of the living room windows, and sitting on the swing out on the patio. In fact, we spent the entire last day of our trip at the house because we felt like we had been gone so much every day that we didn't get to enjoy the house enough.
We also loved the location. There are truly no other homes in sight -just rolling hills, a lake across the road, and the pink cliffs in the distance. The property is also quite large with a trail running through it that we hiked on a couple of times. It's not very far from the towns of Glendale, Orderville, and Duck Creek, so there is easy access to stores, gas stations and restaurants. It is around an hour each way to drive to Zion, Bryce Canyon or Cedar Breaks, so if those are your destinations, be prepared to spend some time in the car each day. But it wasn't long enough that the drive felt burdensome, and we got much more in terms of space, amenities and solitude than we would have if we stayed right by any of the parks.
The Old Lazy Bar S Ranch is a gem and we felt privileged to be able to stay there. I can't imagine finding a place we would have liked more. If we ever travel to the area again, this is where we would stay."
