Family Ski Trip
"Our family just spent a fabulous week at this home over President's Week. The home was beautiful, very welcoming and cozy. The 5 minute drive to the gondola made getting on the slopes first thing in the morning a breeze...no lines, can purchase tickets and store skis ski at the gondola building. The owner was wonderful to work with in both planning our stay and responding to any questions once we arrived. We definitely recommend this home to others looking for a great place to stay in Deer Valley!"

"Everything was as described. It is close enough to walk to town, but far enough away that you don't hear it. Hot tub backs up to hillside for a nice private spot. Kitchen and house had all the amenities of home. Host was very attentive and easy to work with."

"We were looking for the best family ski vacation available and we found it at the Cliff Lodge. We felt right at home in the large, comfortable rooms with easy access to the ski lockers, followed by a short run to either the tram or chair lift. It was a pleasure dealing with Deb in making the arraignments and she answered all questions and added suggestions from her store of local knowledge. She went so far as to arrange a few feet of fresh powder just as we arrived. After a tough day ripping powder we had a choice of our own balcony hot tub or the larger pools and hot tubs at the Cliff Lodge. We loved having the option of making meals in our kitchen or dining out without leaving the lodge. The Mexican restaurant downstairs was well worth two trips."

"We selected this cabin for our 7th annual college reunion trip (5 men). We've always used vacation rental homes and out of all our rentals, I have never encountered a more earnestly accommodating or conscientious owner. Our rental coincided with the May-Pac fight and he went out of his way to make sure when the opening bell struck we'd have the PPV event flowing thru his Directv satellite dish onto the flat-screen TV. Highly unusual situation, but it's a testament to his dedication to guest satisfaction.
As other reviewers have noted, the drive up to the cabin from Moab is ~40 minutes, sections were paved and others were not. A 4x4 vehicle is not necessary; any plain SUV will suffice and more for the ground clearance than for power. We had good weather though and I could see how parts of the drive could get more challenging if it rained hard enough and thus demand 4x4. For the time guzzler the drive up is, it really is dramatic and far from a bore/chore (but not dangerous), becoming part of the adventure. The cabin is truly ideal for MTB/dirt bike & ATV enthusiasts.
The wrap-around deck with wrap-around bench is surprisingly spacious and inviting. There's even a built-in kitchen-level counter by the gas grill perfectly designed for outdoor food prep overlooking the mesa. We worked the kitchen hard and it met our needs with flying colors (loved the pizza stone). Igniter on the grill was broken but the kitchen had 2 lighters and there was a spare tank in case we ran out of gas. The air at the cabin is delicious with near-zero noise pollution from town. Contra other reviewer's experience we didn't have a dust problem. To sum up, this is a fabulous cabin even better if you bring a rustic spirit to match its rustic charms."
