  • Perfect location, beautiful home

"My parent, sister and I got together from all corners of the country to tour the grand circle of parks. We deliberated a great deal about location and settled on Kanab for it's central location. I am glad we did because we found this home. The location is great, not just because of Kanab, but also being so close to the canyons. We were able to spend one day just exploring the area trails. The house overall was well kept, fresh and clean - I have been renting for 10 years on VRBO and this was the nicest I have stayed in. I had the master suite and the room was spacious and the bathroom was wonderful. Plenty of towels provided - including pool towels. Kitchen was beautifully done with cherry cabinets and granite countertops. Room for a couple of people to maneuver around and a breakfast nook for those who wanted to chat with the folks in the kitchen. There was a small patio by the kitchen were we would have coffee or a glass of wine after coming back from hiking. With the high ceilings and minimal decore, the house felt alot larger than it actually was and was quite comfortable for 4 people."

  • Moab solitude.

"If you are looking for a great retreat from the crowds in a terrific setting and if you have a four wheel drive vehicle this place is for you. The owner John, is very engaging and has been upfront about the only drawback of this cabin. It is difficult to get to. (On the other hand, that is part of its charm!). The road that Google suggests, Sand Flats, comes in from the West and North and is a legitimate jeep road in many sections. We arrived late in the day during a rain storm and between the narrow, rocky, muddy surface and the sharp curves that hug small canyon walls, it got a little exciting. It didn't take us long, however, to discover a much easier way in from the South. I highly recommend, for those less adventurous souls, that the trek up LaSal Mountain Loop Road to a much shorter segment of Sand Flats is preferable. The final quarter mile to the cabin is a rocky and muddy road that turns off of Sand Flats. Again I highly recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle with ample clearance. The access to the property and the property setting are beautiful on their own. The porch offers great views of Canyonlands, Arches, and the LaSal mountains. Take time to hike around the property, enjoy sunrise and sunset and the great night sky. The cabin itself is very clean, we'll decorated and equipped, and very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked. We used the queen bed in the back bedroom and found it very comfortable. This is a great place to relax and enjoy the best nature has to offer. It took us about an hour and a half to get from it to either Arches or Canyonlands. Those parks are awesome and to some degree when you stay at the property you feel a bit like you never left them. That works out well since, at least in our case, between the road conditions and the travel times we sometimes felt we had to leave the National Parks a little early so we could avoid traveling the jeep road in the dark and rain. Bottom line, if you are a bit adventuresome this property is a great place to stay. You'll make some unexpected memories and have some great stories."

  • Family Ski trip

"We spent seven days at Chaparral in Marcy of 2014 and it was perfect for your family. Great location, easy to book and excellent communications with Laura and Kevin. The accommodations were nice, clean and we had everything we needed. We would rent again. We were a family of four with two young children."
