Recent South, Old Town reviews

  • Great ski in/out chalet with plenty of room and amenities

"Recently, we stayed at this wonderful chalet for the 3rd time. It has become our "go to" ski accommodation in Park City for its proximity to the Town Lift, Park City town, easy access. Rental rate is reasonable and the amenities are certainly enough. The large outdoor hot tub is definitely a HUGE plus for those who like to soak after a long day on the slopes. Most importantly, you can walk to/from the bottom of the Town Lift run in the mornings and afternoons - about 1/2 block. We stayed here 4 days and never even needed to drive the rental cars!"

  • Superb condo in Old Town, great for large families

"Kyle (owner) is super to work with and attentive to emails/phone. We arrived a day early and he worked with us to get checked in that day. Condo is in excellent location - true ski in/ski out, 2 blocks from Main Street/shops/restaurants(down the stairs) and Park City bus transit center(don't underestimate this convenience when getting to/from various ski resorts, grocery store, etc), nice views of town and slopes. Condo itself is nicely appointed with all the modern conveniences you will need. It has multiple levels, which allows for those who have had enough of "family bonding moments" to escape. We did not rent a vehicle, and, I believe the only advantage of having one would be if you needed to make multiple trips to grocery store during your stay(we took bus to store only once and stocked up). There is parking available outside condo. The location also provides for those who are tired of skiing/boarding to venture out on there own and take in what the town and surrounding area has to offer. Our children range from 13-18 and we felt perfectly comfortable letting them walk about town and use the bus system on their own. Overall, we chalk this place up with the others we have rented via VRBO as an excellent find and we will be back!"

  • Perfect Place for a Family Reunion

"Twenty-six of us descended on The Grand Love Shack mid-August for our 5-night family reunion. Our ages ranged from 19 to 87, and we hailed from the Pacific Northwest, the West and East coasts, and the Southwest. We've had a number of previous reunions elsewhere in the country; without question the Grand Love Shack in Park City is our favorite. The owner and property manager were wonderful to work with, very accommodating, helpful and knowledgeable about the area and its history. The home was impeccably clean, and beautifully maintained. Although the kitchen is somewhat smaller than it appears in photographs, it was extremely well-equipped and highly functional. We fed everyone every night with no problems. And the two side-by-side dishwashers made clean-up a breeze. En suite bedrooms, named for Park City historical figures, were comfortable and pretty. Although each room had window air conditioners, we didn't turn them on. Nights were cool with lovely breezes. We spent a lot of time on the side porch, enjoying wine and appetizers in the evening, or coffee in the morning. My favorite spot was the front porch in the late afternoon...reading a book after a day of hiking, looking at the lovely mountains surrounding the property. Getting down to Main Street for lunch or the town's many summertime events took only 5-10 minutes via a staircase directly across the street from the property. We mountain biked, hiked, rode the lifts for scenic views, went to the Egyptian Theater for a Neil Simon festival, and attended a riveting aerial ski and snowboard demonstration at Olympic Park. We hope to be back for our next reunion, and without hesitation recommend this very special rental. Thank you Jeff."

  • Location Location Location - Plus Extras

"Steps from bus to all three resorts; one block from PCMR town lift and equipment rentals; on Park Street so very quiet; steps away from Main street for dining, shopping and browsing fun; close enough to the outside hot tub that you just wrap a towel around you even in 9 degrees Fahrenheit; indoor hot tub and sauna as well as washer dryer and showers in basement of same building; 38 minutes from SLC airport. The master bedroom has a comfortable king bed - we don't usually find that in condo rentals. Down bedding in both bedrooms. There is an 8 inch shower head - also not customary in many condo rentals. Living room furniture is leather and very comfy. There is a ski hanger right when you enter the condo and a bench to sit down to take your boots off (again - not something you find in every rental). It was also nice to have a front desk to check bags and take advantage of half day skiing on either the day you arrive or the day you leave. Brenda was very responsive before and during our stay!"
