  • Great place to stay for skiing.

"We stayed at Art and Kathy's place for 5 days/nights to ski. There were 6 of us and we had plenty of room. The house was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. Kathy was great to work with. She went out of her way to see to it that we had what we needed. It was great to be so close to the ski areas where we wanted to ski. It is also very convenient to get to stores and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks, Art and Kathy!"

  • Chic Loft

"From the minute we walked through the door were pleasantly surprised. The loft was immaculate and furnished with high end furniture, appliances, and linens. The kitchen was well stocked kitchen and the internet connection was super fast. After a day of walking, it was nice to enjoy the patio to relax. The downtown location is perfect; a stone’s throw away from Trax and The Gateway; easy walking distance to numerous restaurants, coffee houses, City Creek Center, Capitol Theatre, Energy Solutions Arena, and the Salt Lake Convention Center. Recommend Vosen’s bakery for coffee and bread. Gina and Dennis provided detailed instructions that were very easy to follow. They were great to deal with and responded promptly to any questions that we had. Thank you so much Gina and Dennis for sharing your chic downtown loft with us. It was perfect!"

  • House was quite nice, unbeatable walking distance location

"We felt quite comfortable here. The owner (company) was great to deal with and very responsive. The home is older, but we knew that when we rented it. It is fun to stay in a vintage historical-style residence in a location like Salt Lake with so much history. The home had comfortable furnishings, new fresh linens, the hot tub was clean and useable, and the walk was convenient to the train stop. We did have an issue with needing a few extra pillows, but we called and they promptly brought them right over. We would recommend bringing no more than 10 if staying here as it can get a bit too crowded. But, all in all, the home was prepared nicely for us and in years past, we have not found a better location in downtown Salt Lake."

Salt Lake City Travel Tips

The Wasatch Mountains Surround Salt Lake City Vacation Rentals

Most people think about winter sports when they hear Salt Lake City, Utah. However, this beautiful city is an all-season vacation spot. You can pick your Salt Lake City vacation rentals close to the ski resorts or in the heart of downtown with a luxury condo. Wherever you decide to stay in Salt Lake City, you can be sure that the owners of your properties through the VRBO network will provide you with the most sumptuous accommodations possible. While there are many splendid hotels in the area, they do not compare to the home-like atmosphere you will find at these Salt Lake City homes. You will enjoy plush beds, kitchens to prepare your favorite meals, and amenities that are not available at a hotel.

Arriving at Salt Lake City Lodging

The Salt Lake International Airport is about seven miles from the downtown area which is off Interstate 80. If you are going to stay in one of the downtown Salt Lake City lodging choices, you may not even need a car because of the public transportation system. However, you can rent a car at the airport. If you choose to drive to Salt Lake City, you can get there by taking Interstate 15 from a north – south direction or Interstate 80 from an east – west direction. You will find that there are comfortable homes or condos in any direction from the heart of Salt Lake City.

Trace Family History From Salt Lake City Condos

If you have come to Salt Lake City to trace your genealogy, you will be close to the Family History Library on West Temple if you choose a Salt Lake City condo or home downtown. This library is one of the world’s largest for tracing your family history. The collection is focused on people that came from the United States, Europe, Canada, Scandinavia, and Canada, although the library continues to compile information from other areas of the world as well. They offer research tools such as microfilm, computers and reference books. The records that the library has span the years from 1550 to 1920. There is no charge to use the library‘s facilities and only five dollars per day to park at their lot.

After you have spent the afternoon researching your family tree, you can return to your Salt Lake City condo to peruse your findings. There is plenty of room to spread out and make your own book of records at your condo or home.

The magnificent Temple Square holds the most prominent buildings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as well as statues, monuments and memorials. There are 30-minute guided tours every day. The Mormon Temple itself is closed to the public but the Tabernacle, with its domed roof, holds organ recitals daily and their outstanding choir practices on Thursdays. Carriage tours take you from Temple Square around the downtown area which is a great way to see the city.

Outdoor recreation includes skiing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the winter. Other year-round activities are golfing, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, tennis, boating, swimming, and watching soccer, baseball or hockey games. Of course, you should pack a lunch at your Salt Lake City vacation rental and drive to the Great Salt Lake. There, you can float in the lake, ride horses or rent a sailboat at the marina.

Where to Shop Closer to Salt Lake City Vacation Homes

Again, staying within the city’s boundaries will give you access to some of the best shopping in Salt Lake City. After you enjoy breakfast on your private balcony or deck, head to Crossroads Plaza, one of the largest covered shopping malls. There are four floors to delight the shopper in you. Besides finding that perfect gift to take home, you can also dine or take in a sporting event at the sports complex.

If you are looking for furniture, stop by Gardner Historic Village located on South Street where there are historic cabins and the Old Gardner Mill to visit while you shop. Trolley Square is an old trolley barn built in 1908 by a railroad magnate. Inside is an old trolley car complete with stained glass windows and antique lighting. If you do not wish to shop, just enjoy a walking tour of the facility.
