"This cabin home was great - we were all surprised at how nice and "homey" it felt. More importantly, it was very, very clean, and for both couples, that was the biggest plus. It was decorated very nicely, and all the furnishings were in very good shape, as were all the kitchen appliances and the utensils...which is always a nice thing, for sure. The whole place was very nicely done and appointed very well. For the price paid, you expect a certain standard, but oftentimes you're disappointed. Not so with this place. The only negative for me was the queen mattress in the bedroom just off the kitchen on the side where the oven and stove are located. My wife didn't mind it at all, but I prefer a super-firm mattress and the one on this bed was anything but. Not sure about the master bedroom bed, but the couple we were traveling with didn't mention it so it must have been fine.
For our needs on this trip, the location was ideal, being right in the middle between Zion and Bryce National Parks...just about an hour away from each park, in opposite directions. If you plan to go to Arches National Park, pack a lunch because it'll take about 4 hours each way. Close-by (less than 10 miles west on Hwy 14), the little enclave of Duck Creek Village offered some decent home-style food for when we didn't feel like cooking at the cabin. A few local attractions were recommended by one of the waitresses at Aunt Sue's Café in Duck Creek Village (awesome burgers and even better pancakes) and we checked them out the one afternoon we had free, and they were fantastic - really great hidden gems to explore just a few miles away. Be sure to check out Cascade Falls and Aspen Mirror Lake if you can. And Cedar Breaks National Monument is just a few miles away, too. Another awesome natural spectacle worth seeing. Truly breath-taking, and so close.
The neighborhood was very private and quiet and we hardly ever saw any neighbors until the week-end when we assumed people come up from Vegas or were other renters like us. Never heard a peep from anyone other than the owls at night or the occasional car or truck going up the road. We walked all over the development one day to explore and there are some truly cool cabins in the surrounding area.
All-in-all, it was a very positive experience for all four people in our group...all adults, over 50, no kids, no pets. If we went back, we'd stay at this same home again...no hesitation."
