  • Best rental ever!

"I've rented places in Vermont before, but none compare to this house. It's very clean and uncluttered, but still is fully equipped with everything you'd need. Our favorites being the grill, fire pit, comfy couches. Oh and the back deck is the spot for sunsets. Lots of stars at night and deer in the morning. The house is on a large open lot that feels private without being too secluded. The town of Chester is close by with lots of fun places to eat like, Smokin Bowls and Stone Pizza. We also found the Springfield Coop to be very affordable. Dan couldn't have been nicer to deal with. I felt more like I was visiting a friend's house, than at a rental. Only problem is one week there wasn't nearly long enough. Can't wait to go back!"

  • Awesome Vacation Spot!

"We had a wonderful summer vacation in this super comfortable unit! The kitchen had everything we could need for a week long stay. A washing machine on site was extremely handy. The bedrooms were set up perfectly for my family of two adults and two teens. Everything was super clean - I can't imagine what anyone could find wanting here! The location was fabulous - close to everything we could want to do at Smugglers Notch, pools, river, biking trails, the teen center, the restaurants and general store. Going further afield, we enjoyed visiting Jeffersonville for the Farmers Market, the recreation trail and a few restaurants. Not to mention the maple creamies - we won't forget them soon! All in all, a great vacation at a great location - can't wait to return!"

  • Cozy and Serene

"5 of us came up from DC to spend a long weekend touring VT breweries and enjoying the autumn glory of Vermont, and this cabin was a wonderful home for us. Plenty of firewood, wifi (that made the lack of cell signal unimportant), beautiful view and removed from everything, but also a 12-15 minute drive into Waterbury for delicious food and local brews. John was very helpful and responsive despite being on vacation and kind for allowing for a late check out. Also the beds are super comfortable, and the cabin is well stocked with the desired accoutrements. Description and pictures are accurate. Feels like an authentic cozy Vermont mountain cottage. We would easily stay here again! Waterbury must-go brew pubs and restaurants (best VT beer selection in state): Prohibition Pig (great bbq and beer), The Reservoir, Blackback pub, probably a few other places we didn't try. Short drive to grocery, Ben and Jerry's Factory, apple cider mill."

  • We Never Grew Tired of the View!

"August 2014: We love The Ridge (have rented in the community a few times before) for the views, the quiet, and the space flexibility. This is our first time with this unit and the property headline is very accurate. Because this is an end unit, and particularly due to its siting in relation to the next group of units, it offers an exceptionally broad view as well as the extra natural light. The property is very clean, nicely furnished and very well stocked (pots & pans, cooking utensils, serving pieces, plates & silverware, and sheets and towels), reflecting that the unit is not a full time rental. We are a small family with one 10 year old daughter who occasionally had a friend visit. There was also a third bedroom with its own bath for the occasions when we had a couple visit for the weekend or for a few days. Although the unit isn't exceptionally large in square footage, there was plenty of space for all. The main floor living/dining/kitchen areas feel spacious due to the high ceilings. There are plenty of instructions in the unit about how things work and things to do in the area. The owners are very accessible, helpful, and accommodating. The Ridge has a quiet pool with a view as well. It's a nice feature for families as children (and adults) like to use it in between doing other activities or for quiet relaxation."
