  • Remarkable home. Visually stunning, while still cozy and amazingly equipped.

"My family traveled to the Couching Lion from Georgia to meet up with our New Englander family members over the New Year. All of us were astounded by this home. The views from here are beautiful and the home is a wonder in and of itself. Even with gorgeous, soaring beamed ceilings, it remained cozy and warm. Thoughtful use of energy-smart construction such as radiant floor heating and foam insulation was clearly employed with a wonderful outcome. We encountered unseasonably cold, below zero temperatures (frigid, even according to the locals) but we were always content inside the home. The kitchen, according to the chefs in my family, was the best equipped they had ever seen. There is a fabulous buck stove to snuggle up next to and a large living room for family board games and movie watching. The open floor plan on the main floor allows for great flow and conversation. Then, there is ample room in the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms for sleeping and relaxing. The home is incredibly clean and Zeph and Beverly are warm and easy to communicate with. Due to the polar vortex we encountered, we only skied two days. Still, we were delighted with the variety of things to do nearby. The kids enjoyed sledding down the hill behind the elementary school for about 30 mins until toes began screaming. The tour of Ben and Jerry's was a hit with all. Our top two favorites, though, were the glass blowing demonstration at the local gallery and the tour of the Trapp Family Lodge. We were pleasantly surprised by the in-depth history and great storytelling we enjoyed at that Lodge. I think that even those who are not big Sound of Music Fans will like it. We highly recommend this home for a memorable vacation any time of year!"

  • Many wonderful stays at this Traditional Farm Home for all seasons.

"What a wonderful time we always have in this perfect getaway home; it's always a great way to escape. Whether it's in the winter, with the snow and coziness of the home, or summer, enjoying the reservoir and the great lawn. Our family and friends have created wonderful memories. This home is far enough away from all the craziness of the Killington access rd. but yet a short drive to Ski and Hike this beautiful area. I recommend families to use it for Reunions, Skiing & Kayaking."

  • Wonderful Cottage and Helpful Hosts

"My husband and I just spent an extended ski vacation in Norma and Joe's comfortable, clean and thoughtfully furnished cottage. The description and pictures give a good idea of what is there. We hope to return next winter for another ski vacation. Norma and Joe were very hospitable. The refrigerator was stocked with eggs, milk, OJ and Coffee. And there was fresh fruit on the table. They were ready to offer suggestions about activities and lent us snowshoes one day for a walk on a nearby trail. They also kept us in baked "goodies" which we really enjoyed. I cooked every day and the kitchen is very well stocked. I always had the pot, pan or utensil I needed. And they provide flour, sugar, oil, vinegar, spices. It was so nice to be able to cook our meals. The internet signal was strong and we loved the DirectTV with the Tennis Channel. It was a real luxury for us. The cottage sits on a slight rise just off a town maintained, paved road. This is very important in Vermont during "mud season." And the crushed stone driveway was well-maintained. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows and quilts. The bedrooms (and bath) have small built-in heaters which keep you toasty when the temperature gets below zero. There are plenty of carpets and throw rugs also. So bring your warm slippers and enjoy this lovely cottage."

  • Great Group Vacation Home

"We stayed with a group of 6 couples this past weekend to ski Jay Peak Mountain. The house was set up beautifully when we arrived. Angela took the extra step to have music playing and the fire going for us which was much appreciated after our long drive. The kitchen has everything you will need to make big group dinners, even things we were not expecting such as a crock pot and pizza stone. We actually brought our own of each because we have never rented a house that had those before. The house was very clean and had the perfect amount of space for us all. We would love to come back in the summer to enjoy the large back yard the home has as we were not venturing outside much this past weekend besides to ski because of the frigid Vermont temperatures. Thank you very much to Angela for making our stay a relaxing and enjoyable."
