  • Winter wonderland

"As a family of 5 travelling all the way from Sydney Australia, we couldn't believe that the barn was even better than depicted on the website. If we could give this property 6 stars we would. It was just a magical place to spend the Xmas week, where the owners have thought of everything to make your stay just perfect. We had snow on arrival and went on some wonderful walks on the property. Our kids fell in love with Ender the dog who became a member of our family for the week. We cooked some fabulous meals in the kitchen, including the wood fired oven and the hot tub outside surrounded by snow was just magical. Shelly and Jeff the owners were great to deal with and Gayle, the caretaker helped us with everything we needed and gave us some great tips about the local area including the local produce markets. We can't say enough positive things about this place and hope one day to return."

  • Charming and Cozy getaway

"Was looking for a house that would accomodate two adult couples that were looking to relax and hit the slopes. Jan the owner was very helpful with all the details of the house. The two master bedrooms were very spacious with nice beds. We enjoyed the rustic charm of the house and lounged in the living room by the fireplace and watched movies. It was close enough to mount snow and we skied both days. As Jan mentioned 4WD is a must we had a truck so no problem and her neighbor came to plow the driveway as we got six more inches of snow that night."

  • Charming place to spend a vacation

"Four of us from the Midwest spent a week in this charming lakeside camp during peak foliage color. The camp itself is very clean and super comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed just hanging out on the dock, the deck, or enjoying the view from inside. We really had a good time taking in the fall foliage festivals in the surrounding small towns. Groton State Forest is very close and offers a variety of interesting hiking options and amazing scenic views. Farther away attractions we took in were the Shelburne Museum and Mt. Washington. We never ran out of things to do, but, if we did there was a lot of information about nearby activities and attractions in books and folders at the camp. The owner was very helpful in answering questions about the best time to visit, how to get to the camp, and in making sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and relatives - in fact, we already have! This is a beautiful part of the state, and a perfect place to stay to enjoy it."
