  • Charming

"This cottage was a wonderful place for our family to stay on our summer vacation. It had plenty of room for us to spread out when we wanted to. We enjoyed it's proximity to the local tourist attractions while still maintaining the local feel. Our family enjoyed swimming in the river, visiting Ben & Jerry's (several times), hiking in the Mad River Valley and touring Burlington. Nothing was more than an hour away. We loved the vintage stove and having fresh spring water on tap! The kids loved playing in the yard when we could get them away from the board games & puzzles that were provided. This home was 100% ready for us to just move in for the week. Deb & Dick provided great cookware to use and every utensil one could need. We can't wait until the next time we are able to visit."

  • Absolutely wonderful place

"My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this cabin for 2 weeks, and it was absolute heaven!! The house itself had everything you could ever need or want. (well stocked kitchen, etc...) and is very nicely decorated. We spent the majority of our stay outdoors and down by the river. When the water level is not high, there's a little beach down on the left. Follow the path in the back of the yard behind the firepit. I was expecting the water to be ice cold but it was absolutely gorgeous. Any questions we had for the owner were promptly responded to. We were so impressed with this place that we've already booked another 2 weeks for next year. I would recommend this cabin highly!!!"

  • Great place for a family vacation!

"This is a FANTASTC place to stay, especially if you have a large group of folks. The house itself is very well maintained, with plenty of living and sleeping space. Beds were comfortable in all 5 bedrooms, and the owner provides plenty of towels and linens for everyone. There are 2 full baths, one on each floor, and as is typical for an older home it helps to stagger showers, but this wasn't a problem for us. We stayed here last week of December 2014 with our family (6 people) and another family (3 people) and did not feel cramped at all. Dining area seats 10 easily and 12 without much problem; owner provides several folding chairs in the laundry room as needed for additional guests. Laundry room also doubles as an entry way/boot room, to avoid tracking snow and mud into the house, and it held 8 sets of ski boot and 8 regular boots with room to spare. There is room for at least 3 cars in the driveway, we never tried to get a 4th car in but it might be possible. The kitchen is very well equipped (pots, pans, other cooking essentials, full serving for 12+), and the owner also has the kitchen stocked with many staples that you are free to use and replenish (sugar, oil, vinegar, spices, coffee, etc.); this was critical for us as we arrived on Christmas eve and couldn't do a lot of shopping before all the stores closed, and of course we forgot a few key items. The living room has comfortable couches and chairs, and the owner has a number of board games and puzzles for younger kids in the event the snow isn't falling, as well as wifi and cable TV. There is a wood stove for those that know how to use it, and a stereo (though must everyone had their own ipod and headphones, not sure we ever even tried it). The location is great for skiers: on route 17 a few miles east of Mad River Glen, close to Sugarbush as well (though we only skied MRG while we were there), and <10 minutes from Waitsfield. The owner is friendly and very easy to work with. I would absolutely stay here again."

  • Fantastic Experience

"Our stay at the house was truly fantastic. The house is exactly as advertised and fit 10 of us without a problem. It was very comfortable and only a short drive away from Killington mountain. Dealing with the owners was a pleasure, as Lori was very quick to respond to all of our (many) questions. We definitely plan to stay here again."
