  • Excellent

"We've been staying in this lovely, well-appointed condo for the past few years. Each time we leave, we can't wait to get back. No matter the time of year. Barb is always around if something is needed."

  • great ski getaway

"Stayed at Dan's place over MLK weekend and had a great holiday. Very close to the mountain, about a 5 min drive to mount snow and a 3 min drive to restaurants and food store. It was easy to find cabs to take us out at night as well as the house is very central to town. The house had everything we needed and Dan was very helpful throughout the process. The house was very clean and the beds extremely comfortable, it was definitely bigger then the pictures make it seem (there are no pictures of the downstairs game room which has a ping pong table and another TV and couch). It does get hot in the bedrooms with the doors closed and the noise is transferred throughout the house easily, but there were fans in the bedrooms that completely cancelled out the noise and helped with the heat so we could keep our doors closed. Would definitely stay here again when we come back to Mount Snow."

  • Best rental ever!

"I've rented places in Vermont before, but none compare to this house. It's very clean and uncluttered, but still is fully equipped with everything you'd need. Our favorites being the grill, fire pit, comfy couches. Oh and the back deck is the spot for sunsets. Lots of stars at night and deer in the morning. The house is on a large open lot that feels private without being too secluded. The town of Chester is close by with lots of fun places to eat like, Smokin Bowls and Stone Pizza. We also found the Springfield Coop to be very affordable. Dan couldn't have been nicer to deal with. I felt more like I was visiting a friend's house, than at a rental. Only problem is one week there wasn't nearly long enough. Can't wait to go back!"

  • Family Christmas

"If you are looking for a great way to spend some quality family time, the Inn at Quail Run is the perfect place. We are an active family that loves to spend time together. We brought the whole family including our mother and grandchildren and everyone enjoyed the vacation. The Inn was beautiful and spacious. It is kept very clean and we found the owners to be most accommodating and the housekeeper responded to all of our needs quickly and efficiently. You definitely need a car to get around but there was plenty to do whether we went to town, or just entertained ourselves in the home. The game room and hot tub were huge hits after a day of skiing, the extra large TV was a bonus, or we could spend quite time by the fire or in our individual rooms, each with it's own TV and bathroom. Christmas was extra special this year and we decided to eat all of our meals at home with such a large group. The kitchen and dining areas were sufficient for all of our needs. We would definitely return to the Inn."

Greensboro Travel Tips

Greensboro Vacation Rentals Are in the Heart of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom

Set on the beautiful Caspian Lake, the northern Vermont town of Greensboro appeals to many tourists searching for quiet relaxation amidst stunning natural beauty. Greensboro was chartered in 1781 and offers historic rural charm with several local breweries and inns which have excellent restaurants. The stunning sunsets and fall foliage are two of its most colorful attractions, making it a photographer's paradise.

Greensboro Vacation Rentals Provide Great Bases for Those on a Budget

Greensboro vacation houses are ideal for families and groups of friends to get together for a fun-filled vacation. With ample space to accommodate larger groups and fully equipped kitchens, they make good financial sense, especially out of the peak summer season. Campfires by the lakeside, grilling on the deck, picnics in the nearby nature preserve and games around the cozy fireplace are cheap ways to have fun in a vacation rental home. They make a great base for other free activities such as swimming, hiking, biking and fishing, and are ideal for visitors of all ages.

Vermont Vacation Rentals Offer Wide Choices of Things to Do for Families

Greensboro offers a host of things to do starting right in the town center. There are plenty of shops to browse, a library, and a golf and country club where golf and tennis can be played. There are lakeside concerts on Sunday evenings and the Circus Smirkus, the famous youth circus, is always a popular family attraction. No visit is complete without a visit to Willy's General Store, famous throughout the state as one of the best.

The nearby Caspian Lake is well known for its fishing. In fact, the largest lake trout ever caught in Vermont was hooked right here. Fishermen can also enjoy angling for landlocked salmon, rainbow and brook trout, and ice houses make ice fishing a popular winter attraction.

The 800-acre lake has public beaches and boat launches and is one of the few lakes which allows waterskiing. Sailing, windsurfing, pontooning, canoeing, kayaking and tubing are also popular activities on the lake. The shallower waters are perfect for snorkeling while divers enjoy the deep waters. The Barr Hill Nature Preserve has hiking and biking trails and is ideal for horseback riding and nature-spotting. In the winter, the area is perfect for downhill and cross country skiing, snowmobiling, sledding and snowshoeing.

Best Ways to Get to Greensboro Vacation Houses

Most visitors to Greensboro choose to drive, bringing their own boats, Jet Skis, canoes or skis with them. For those from further afield, the nearest airport is the Pierre Elliott Trudeau (YUL) International Airport in Montreal, Canada, 94 miles away, or Portland (PWM) International Jetport in Maine, 117 miles away. Greensboro is within easy reach from the Interstate 91, I-87 from New York and the I-89 from Boston.

Neighborhoods to Explore from Your Greensboro Lodging Choice

The area around Greensboro has many old farms which offer fresh produce and artisan cheeses from their farm shops. Greensboro is a pleasant 30-minute drive from other beautiful neighborhoods including the high-end resort of Stowe. St. Johnsbury with its delightful Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, and the city of Newport are charming places to explore in Vermont. The larger cities of Rutland, Burlington, Essex and Plattsburgh are all within a 75-mile drive of the Caspian Lake.

What to Expect Weather-wise at Your Vermont Vacation Rentals

Greensboro has warm, sunny summers with some showers and temperatures averaging 80 F (26 C) from June through August. Spring and fall are the perfect months weather-wise for outdoor pursuits amidst the wildflowers and fall foliage. In January, average daytime highs are around 25 F (-4 C) with 10 inches of snowfall.
