  • Beautiful, immaculate condo with spectacular views

"We rented the condo for a week long girls getaway. With 3 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, it was perfect! The condo is spacious and immaculate. The unit had every imaginable item and was fully stocked with unexpected items that made cooking a pleasure and truly enhanced our stay. The owners provided helpful information before our visit. Check out Madison Brewing Co. in Bennington, and don't miss "The Clark" in Williamstown, MA, Norman Rockwell in Stockbridge, MA, or Hildene in Manchester, VT. This condo set a new standard for comfort and cleanliness."

  • New Year in the Mountains

"My husband and I treated our kids to a ski trip as part of their Christmas present. We stayed through the New Year. What a great time we had! The condo is beautiful and has many of the best amenities. Our favorite was it's location. When we arrived we thought we were traveling down the maintenance road for Mount Ellen but low and behold after a short distance we found the condominium complex. The location is within walking distance of Mount Ellen and there is a lift that can take you from Mt. Ellen to Sugarbush. My family seemed to enjoy skiing Mt. Ellen better because it wasn't as crowded. As for the condo itself, it is very comfortable and homey. There were plenty of towels and blankets. I did a lot of cooking and the kitchen was perfect. I was never at a loss for pots, pans, or utensils. In addition, the owner is very friendly and quick to respond to inquiries. We would definitely stay here again!"

  • Outstanding in every way!!

"We had the pleasure of staying here for two weeks with our two children and dog, and we felt welcomed and truly enjoyed our stay. This is the quintessential Vermont experience; gorgeous property with a pond, fishing and activities close by and wonderful hosts who took care of us and helped to inform us about activities in the area as well. The King size beds in each of the three bedrooms are incredibly comfortable, and the house is well stocked with everything one would need and the Wifi access is quick and reliable. Close to Stowe and Jay Peak, the location was nice and quiet on a dirt road, yet accessible to the different places we wanted to see. Be sure to take time to get to know the goats, and "Drifter", the owners' dog who is friendly and very welcoming. We truly could not have asked for more, and we will definitely be back in the future!!"

  • Great Labor Day Weekend

"Great lake views, cute little cottage. Water was great for swimming, lounging, and fishing. We didn't have a boat, but there is a boat rental close by. Everything you need is at the cottage: grill, microwave, stove, fridge, floating things for the water, board games, TV/internet, etc. There are only twin beds, which is a negative, and they are not really able to be squeezed together because of the layout of the rooms. Water in the plumbing is not for drinking or cooking, however some drinking water is supplied and was enough for two people for the entire weekend of cooking and making drinks and coffee. Not really a big deal. I would visit again (and give 5 stars) if the rooms were changed to allow a queen bed (supporting posts split the bedrooms). Besides the sleeping arrangements, this place was very charming and we had a great time."

Greensboro Travel Tips

Greensboro Vacation Rentals Are in the Heart of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom

Set on the beautiful Caspian Lake, the northern Vermont town of Greensboro appeals to many tourists searching for quiet relaxation amidst stunning natural beauty. Greensboro was chartered in 1781 and offers historic rural charm with several local breweries and inns which have excellent restaurants. The stunning sunsets and fall foliage are two of its most colorful attractions, making it a photographer's paradise.

Greensboro Vacation Rentals Provide Great Bases for Those on a Budget

Greensboro vacation houses are ideal for families and groups of friends to get together for a fun-filled vacation. With ample space to accommodate larger groups and fully equipped kitchens, they make good financial sense, especially out of the peak summer season. Campfires by the lakeside, grilling on the deck, picnics in the nearby nature preserve and games around the cozy fireplace are cheap ways to have fun in a vacation rental home. They make a great base for other free activities such as swimming, hiking, biking and fishing, and are ideal for visitors of all ages.

Vermont Vacation Rentals Offer Wide Choices of Things to Do for Families

Greensboro offers a host of things to do starting right in the town center. There are plenty of shops to browse, a library, and a golf and country club where golf and tennis can be played. There are lakeside concerts on Sunday evenings and the Circus Smirkus, the famous youth circus, is always a popular family attraction. No visit is complete without a visit to Willy's General Store, famous throughout the state as one of the best.

The nearby Caspian Lake is well known for its fishing. In fact, the largest lake trout ever caught in Vermont was hooked right here. Fishermen can also enjoy angling for landlocked salmon, rainbow and brook trout, and ice houses make ice fishing a popular winter attraction.

The 800-acre lake has public beaches and boat launches and is one of the few lakes which allows waterskiing. Sailing, windsurfing, pontooning, canoeing, kayaking and tubing are also popular activities on the lake. The shallower waters are perfect for snorkeling while divers enjoy the deep waters. The Barr Hill Nature Preserve has hiking and biking trails and is ideal for horseback riding and nature-spotting. In the winter, the area is perfect for downhill and cross country skiing, snowmobiling, sledding and snowshoeing.

Best Ways to Get to Greensboro Vacation Houses

Most visitors to Greensboro choose to drive, bringing their own boats, Jet Skis, canoes or skis with them. For those from further afield, the nearest airport is the Pierre Elliott Trudeau (YUL) International Airport in Montreal, Canada, 94 miles away, or Portland (PWM) International Jetport in Maine, 117 miles away. Greensboro is within easy reach from the Interstate 91, I-87 from New York and the I-89 from Boston.

Neighborhoods to Explore from Your Greensboro Lodging Choice

The area around Greensboro has many old farms which offer fresh produce and artisan cheeses from their farm shops. Greensboro is a pleasant 30-minute drive from other beautiful neighborhoods including the high-end resort of Stowe. St. Johnsbury with its delightful Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium, and the city of Newport are charming places to explore in Vermont. The larger cities of Rutland, Burlington, Essex and Plattsburgh are all within a 75-mile drive of the Caspian Lake.

What to Expect Weather-wise at Your Vermont Vacation Rentals

Greensboro has warm, sunny summers with some showers and temperatures averaging 80 F (26 C) from June through August. Spring and fall are the perfect months weather-wise for outdoor pursuits amidst the wildflowers and fall foliage. In January, average daytime highs are around 25 F (-4 C) with 10 inches of snowfall.
