  • Minutes from the lift; wonderful for a family gathering!

"Spent another wonderful Christmas week at this condo (returning for a second year). The kids had a blast at ski camp, the middle generation skied and snowboarded, the older generation went snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Lovely. The condo is nicely appointed and has a wonderfully complete kitchen for a rental unit. Three full baths really help with 10 people in the condo. The kitchen feels a bit small when 10 people are trying to get brekkie together in the morning... but it all works. The best part is that the condo is a short walk to the ski lift... it doesn't get any better than that!"

  • Wonderful Cottage and Helpful Hosts

"My husband and I just spent an extended ski vacation in Norma and Joe's comfortable, clean and thoughtfully furnished cottage. The description and pictures give a good idea of what is there. We hope to return next winter for another ski vacation. Norma and Joe were very hospitable. The refrigerator was stocked with eggs, milk, OJ and Coffee. And there was fresh fruit on the table. They were ready to offer suggestions about activities and lent us snowshoes one day for a walk on a nearby trail. They also kept us in baked "goodies" which we really enjoyed. I cooked every day and the kitchen is very well stocked. I always had the pot, pan or utensil I needed. And they provide flour, sugar, oil, vinegar, spices. It was so nice to be able to cook our meals. The internet signal was strong and we loved the DirectTV with the Tennis Channel. It was a real luxury for us. The cottage sits on a slight rise just off a town maintained, paved road. This is very important in Vermont during "mud season." And the crushed stone driveway was well-maintained. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows and quilts. The bedrooms (and bath) have small built-in heaters which keep you toasty when the temperature gets below zero. There are plenty of carpets and throw rugs also. So bring your warm slippers and enjoy this lovely cottage."

  • Terrific Home in a Beautiful Setting

"We (3 adults) stayed at the house for three nights in February. The main purpose of the trip was skiing and I chose Rochester because it's about half way between Killington and Sugarbush - about 30-40 minutes to either resort which was fine by us (by the way, we ended up skiing at Mad River Glen and I definitely recommend it over Killington - friendlier, cheaper, more manageable). The house was great - warm and inviting. It was more than enough for our small group, but it can easily handle a larger group too. There is a large living area with a wonderful fireplace which we used on all nights. I loved the fact that the fireplace is the focal point of the room, while the TV is positioned off to the side. We cooked all breakfasts and dinners and the kitchen had everything we needed. I also enjoyed the dining area - the table was comfortable and it got plenty of light. One feature of the house that we didn't use much is the deck. The view is absolutely breathtaking, and I could easily imagine relaxing on the deck in the warmth of a summer evening surrounded by green mountains. It's a little colder in the white of winter, so no relaxing on the deck. However, sauna was a very welcome feature. I like relaxing my muscles in the heat of a sauna, and this house has a wonderful one. Bedrooms are cozy, and there are plenty of bathrooms, so nobody had to wait their turn. The entire house was clean and well taken care of. I've stayed in a few rental properties over the years, and I think one of the best features of this one is that we felt like we're staying with friends and family. It's just so welcoming and with great feel and character. The area is beautiful, and Rochester is a pretty town. I would like to come back here in the summer for a few days of hiking. It's a great place to unwind. In the winter, AWD is definitely recommended (not just for this house, but for Vermont in general). I learned that my winter driving is not as great as I thought, but I did get some practice as we were there during a winter storm. One last (but definitely not least) thing, Jill was an absolute pleasure to communicate with. She provided a lot of very helpful advice and was quick to respond to any questions. Given another opportunity, I would stay at this house in a heartbeat."

  • Perfect Winter Retreat

"everything was exactly as promised, communication with owner was flawless and made arrival and departure simple. Okemo/Jackson Gore was very enjoyable for the whole family - friendly staff, not getting gouged on prices, courtesy on the mountain. Definitely would use the house again - note it a 10-15 min trip to the ski resort but this was not a issue, the house felt very private. I would recommend this place to a family or a couple looking for a quiet retreat. The resort down the road also had a good pool/sauna which we enjoyed (need a car to access)"
