"My husband, two dogs and I just returned from a week's vacation, and had a perfect vacation for us. It was a perfect mix of quiet relaxation and sight seeing. The house is nicely decorated with antiques and feels cozy and comfortable. It really looks like the pictures here and on the website. Clean and everything in working order. All ammenities listed are accurate. The owner was very responsive to emails and accomodating when our deposit check literally took weeks to get to her! I also liked that there was an emergency contact person who lived close by in case we might have needed it. We chose to drive to the lakefront dock. It was fabulous! So peaceful and private. Our dog literally swam for hours! Just a note for dog owners who want to have their dogs off leash... even though there is a lot of property the house sits close to the road. It wasn't a problem for us, because our dogs are well trained and we were with them.
This is a great place for two people or family gatherings. We really want to come back and maybe next time with family."

"WE had a wonderful time, and the house was so well set up for fun with our two grown children and their mates. We took advantage of the bikes and had some wonderful day trips. The kayaks were great for exploring, and we swam in the clear lake everyday. The gas grill is excellent for BBQ. The area is lovely and quiet. The owner was helpful and very responsive to our needs. The only problem was---the week went by too fast! We loved this part of Vermont and hope to return."

"the house is situated directly on Lake Champlain in a small tucked away community of about 10 homes..it was extraordinarily peaceful, especially at night for stargazing as there was little to no ambient light..this section of the Lake is sparsely populated; even across the lake we barely made out 3 or 4 homes.
The area nearby was about "peak" for leaf peeping, many hikes/walks/bike rides..we went into Burlington and Shelburne a few times, with Burlington being a neat, slightly offbeat college town with a variety of activities.
The house itself is very nicely outfitted, with the exception that I would recommend updated seating in the living area and possibly on the upper deck area. We ate dinner at the house all but one of our 7 nights..although there are good eating options in nearby Vergennes and Middlebury if you dont like cooking.
All in all, the place was fine ; the owner was cordial and responsive to our needs, One slight negative (certainly not the owners fault) was the number of flies we had to contend with in the house...hey, its on a lake and it was warm, so I guess that shouldnt be a surprise..but it was annoying."

"We have stayed at many VRBO homes, but we have never had a more hospitable, gracious host than Warren. From the cheese and ice cream that he greeted us with upon arrival to his great advice on day trips and more, Warren was really the best. We appreciated all of his help!
Our daughters (2 and 4) loved the house, particularly the spacious outdoor area and easy access to the water. And the nearby ice cream shop didn't hurt either!
The highlight for us was walking into the state park and taking the ferry to Burton Island. It was great to be on the water and have easy access to such a beautiful island for the day.
A few drawbacks:
1. There was an upsurge of toxic blue-green algae in the lake, which prevented us from swimming for several days. We had no idea that that could potentially be a problem, so be warned.
2. The water in the house was basically undrinkable (at least for us, since we live in NYC and have delicious tap water). We ended up buying large containers of water from Hannafords to drink and use for coffee throughout the week."
