  • Everything I thought it would be....and more

"I stayed at this cozy little cabin in October. Ron was a great host. The cabin was exactly like the pictures show. Its remote, yet close to the General Store or a short drive to the next town. I loved my vacation, and this little slice of heaven so very much! Thank you for allowing me to stay in your cabin, and I hope to see you again soon! Happy Holidays :)"

  • Perfect Autumn at High Shelter Farm

"High Shelter Farm is the epitome of perfection. In addition, Grace, the host, is the personification of elegance. Since the family resides on the premises, nothing is wanting & questions are answered when asked. All this, and more, is there just for you. Clearly, this 270-acre paradise is the finest property we have yet to rent, regardless of location or price. If you’re looking for privacy, peace and solitude, this is the place. If you want a vacation property nearby to major resorts, look no further. If you’re looking for awesome scenic views from inside or outside the premises, this is it. If you want a winter wonderland, we would believe that you’d find it here. Randy, Grace’s husband, told us that we hit peak-week for autumn foliage. If it can get any better than we experienced, we can’t imagine where that could possibly be. We took so many gorgeous photos just traversing the ½ mile driveway that it took over 30 minutes just to make it up to the house. Another ½ hour melted away as we drove from the house back to the highway, snap, snap, snapping all the while. When hiking on well-marked trails, or coming and going, we were always treated to antics of Tess & Liza, beautiful, young & playful farm pups that never seemed to run out of bubbly energy. Ranch-raised apples were plentiful to feed Molly & Summer, the appreciative donkeys that always brayed when we were spotted. Nearby ducks, chickens, and sheep added to the ambiance along with fresh eggs, a king-size bed with an excellent mattress, large bathroom with 2 sinks, BBQ grill on a private patio, internet access, & fresh flowers. Oh, we were invited to & did partake of the many herbs, fresh each day, for our salads. Large-scale maps, lists of things to see and do were right at hand. While motoring to explore the surrounding countryside & mountains, we were greeted by Vermont beauty and hospitality everywhere we went. But we were constantly beckoned back early each day to enjoy all that High Shelter offered. What could be better?"

  • Perfect weather, great stay

"We spent a few days here and had a great time overall. Really appreciated the kitchenette and deep tub in the room, and free valet parking along with access to the lodge's outdoor jacuzzi were nice perks! Gas fireplace in room added extra warmth whenever we came inside too. The room is directly in front of the Over-easy gondola so it gets a little noisy at 7am, but we were in town for winter sports so it served as a helpful back-up alarm. Overall it was a very nice spot, a great value, and a good vacation. Thank you!"

  • beautiful home

"The cottage was very beautiful inside and out. You walk in to an open floor plan that way you can cook while everyone else relaxes and you can watch the fire roar. They keep the rear deck shoveled off so you have access top the grille on the rear deck. Beautiful views of the mountains from the backside of the house. Everything is tastefully decorated. Grocery store is right down the hill including a local bar across the street. No oven so we brought a crock pot and it worked out great. Only thing I'd want added was a washer dryer which I noticed there was hookups for, so maybe down the road. The bedrooms are both very nice, upstairs is like a retreat as you climb the spiral staircase and arrive to a very open space with beautiful views. I would definitely stay again!"
