"Even before we arrived at the cabin, the owner was most responsive in answering my questions which is why I chose this cabin for our vacation. As soon as I walked in, I felt right a home as the photos accurately reflected the rental's appearance and amenities. The property was clean but some trimming of the greenery facing the road could have been trimmed so that we had a better view of the lake.
The description is that it is secluded, which to some extent it is, but it is also adjacent to Scenic Route 100, so there could be a lot of car and motorcycle noise during the day. However, the location was most convenient as it afforded us access to many other parts of Vermont to explore and to hike. The biggest town, Ludlow, with shopping and restaurants, was about 15 minutes away. Everything we needed for a week's stay in a vacation cottage was provided.
The cabin had a dock but it had gotten damaged in the July 4th rains just before our stay, making it unusable. The owner was generous enough to give us a discount on our rental fee for the week, which was unexpected.
Should we return to Vermont for a vacation, we would certainly consider staying here again."

"My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and the cottage was great. While the kitchenette was small, it was surprisingly well stocked. The heated floors in the bathroom were clutch. The bed was very comfortable. The hot tub was perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. Even for double the price, I doubt you could find a private cabin to beat this place. The only downside is the that the drive isn't paved, so if you happen to get a snow dump, make sure you've got a car that can handle it."

"A few friends and I stayed here during mud season and enjoyed it. We were in town for Lawson's Finest Liquids 7th Anniversary Market/Party in nearby Waitsfield, where the beer was excellent - the whole surrounding area from Warren up through Waterbury, Hardwick and the Northeast Kingdom has amazing craft beer and spirits. The weather was nice enough to eat on the back deck just off the kitchen/main living room. We also took a dip in the hot tub which is right outside the garage (other side of house from the deck) and has a firepit ready and waiting to dry you off when you're done.
Ping pong in the garage was cool too.
Upstairs bedroom and bath were good. Middle level (it's a split level house) had two good living rooms, one of which shares an open concept with the dining area and kitchen (that opens up to the deck). Full bath on mid level too.
We mostly avoided the lower level since it had a musty smell. The tenant above the garage and the owners checked on it for us, and to them it was a normal basement/old house smell so we could have been overreacting. The owners and the housekeeper were extremely responsive to our concerns about the smell and had smell absorbing bags ("damp rid") at the house which we used to try to mask the smell."
