  • Delightful Home, Great Location

"Delightful home in an incredibly convenient vacation location. The house is warm and cozy, but has plenty of room. It has a well equipped kitchen and great family gathering spaces. It is clean and well maintained. There are hiking trails accessible from the house and a short walk through the village. We went skiing at killington, a short 25 minutes away. Restaurants and shopping are in ample supply. There are two great gyms and plenty of other recreation opportunities. The owners are accessible and incredibly friendly. I would highly recommend this as a most reasonable home away from home."

  • Great rental.

"We have been renting this same house every winter for 13 years now. It is the perfect size for our family of five and very convenient to some great ski mountains. We usually ski at Bromley, Stratton and Okemo. It is also only a few minutes from downtown Manchester. The house is very clean and cozy and the owners are always very flexible and accomodating. In 13 years, we only ever had one issue and it was addressed and fixed immediately while we were out skiing the next day."

  • The Fork Shoppe Vacation

"Fishing was great! We caught rainbow trout, large mouth bass, bluegill, and perch. Sunset pond was beautiful, great swimming and the small Vermont atmosphere was great. Nearby Allis State Park offers a challenging hike but perfect for the adventurous type. Go up the Fire Tower, absolutely a gorgeous vista."

  • A great week!

"I have virtually nothing negative to say about this place, it was wonderful. I do not want my 4 star review to be interpreted as a knock on the property. The setting is beautiful and secluded, with a cool hilltop property and great lake views. The house is small, but comfortable. We were not lacking for anything, in fact the close quarters inside encouraged us to spend more time outdoors and we really took advantage of the fantastic area with the grill, firepit, and picnic tables. The lake is great, and even in late August, the water is not too cold. Most of the time is was fairly quiet, with a few other boaters and fishermen out. The surrounding area is beautiful and everything one would need is very accessible. Full size grocery store is about 20 minutes away, general stores, much closer. We made day trips to Burlington, Middlebury, Manchester - to hike Mt. Equinox (an intense, but rewarding hike), and played golf at nearby Neshobe, a nice and affordable course open to the public. Great area, great place. I will add that the road up to the property is a steep, rutted, gravel road. We bottomed out several normal sedans (Nissan Altima / Hyundai Sonata / Mazda 3) on the way up and down. No damage done, but unless you have an SUV / truck, you will bottom out. The hike down to the lake and boat is fairly steep as well. No problem for us, but for the elderly or people who are not in great shape, it could be pretty difficult. Again, not meant to be a knock, just providing helpful information!"
