"For the second year in a row, our extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, etc.) stayed at Amee Farm Inn for Christmas week. What a great place to hang out and relax after the frenetic holidays! Some of us enjoyed taking long walks on the back roads of Pittsfield, while the young families with children booked sleigh riding excursions nearby or hiked the trails of the farm across the street. Many of us went off visited local towns like Woodstock, for lunch and novelty shopping. While last year we thoroughly enjoyed sleigh riding on the hills of Amee Farm, this year there was no snowfall. That is not to say that we were disappointed, as there are so many fun things to do in the area. The innkeepers at Amee are very helpful and give you a choice of having their presence throughout your stay right in the Inn or just contacting them on their cells should a problem arise. One day we noticed it was chilly in the main room and after one call to the innkeeper, a maintenance man showed up to remedy the situation. I highly recommend Amee Farm for large groups and my one suggestion is that guests book the place as a large group as opposed to various families who don't know each other staying there together. I say this because I believe that although the 15 bedrooms can accommodate different small groups, the main rooms are not conducive to privacy among strangers. Our large family felt very, very comfortable hanging out together and spreading out throughout the Inn."

Great location, ski in/ski out and close to Okemo Base as well as town
"What an excellent spot! Location cannot be beat, truly ski in/ski out. You walk a very short distance from the house and you are on the mountain. What's great about the condo is it's one of the closest units to the mountain in the Winterplace development. It's very easy to ski down to the Okemo base and there are some other lifts nearby as well where if you had your lift ticket ahead of time, you wouldn't even need to go to the base at all. The house has plenty of beds (great for any group) and the entryway has a lot of storage space for all the ski/snowboard gear. The kitchen was really well appointed and had everything we could have needed. I mention this because I rent ski houses 2-3 times a year and always get annoyed when kitchens don't have the essentials (i.e. most of the time) but didn't have to worry about that here! The owner was so nice and incredibly helpful, she responded to my emails within the hour (often sooner than that). She also gave us plenty of info/suggestions on what to do in the area so the check-in process was seamless. She also emailed after our stay just to find out how everything was. I wish we had stayed longer but we are definitely planning on staying here again next year!"

"Our friends and family stayed for a long weekend in March 2015. Place was larger than expected and more than enough room for 4 small families. Everything was very clean and owners are very courteous. They do not try to nickel and dime as most of the other owners are capable of doing in the Killington area. Within 15 minutes of the Killington access road. Really happy that we stay here. We will make contact once again for the 2016 Season."

"We were four retired teachers looking for a retreat to watch the fall color. The Duck and Dog did not disappoint! The home is just as it looks in the photos! Everything is provided, and the owners were so accommodating. They sent us detailed directions to the house, as well as, an information list about the home and where grocery stores were located. We found our beds fresh and the bathrooms and kitchen sparkling and exceptionally well equipped. There was never a wait for showers with the instant hot water. We have stayed in VRBOs before where we have had to clean the house and wash all the dishes and utensils before feeling like we could enjoy our stay! Definitely not the case here...not even a dog hair or duck feather!
We spent a wonderful week in Sept/Oct watching the trees change from our first day to our last. What beauty! We had gorgeous weather during the days for our forays into the surrounding towns and cool evenings when we enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and the indoor pellet stoves...nice and cozy.
We hiked, photographed, discovered lovely shops in friendly towns, took panoramic drives through the Green Mountains, and took in a performance at the Town Hall Theater in Middlebury. More than anything, the relaxing, peaceful setting of this home among the trees, made our Vermont get-away an awesome a success."
