  • Couldn't have been better!

"We absolutely adored our time at this lakefront cottage. It was more than we could ever have asked for. We spent 4 nights over New Years here and fully unplugged. I honestly didn't know what to expect at the cottage as the pictures didn't show much, but there's no way that pictures could do justice to this well appointed and thought out place. We stopped for groceries in Colebrook, NH on our way up, and we got many different spices and condiments, none of which we needed as the kitchen is impressively stocked. We had grand plans of snowmobiling and skiing the week away, but the weather had other plans. It rained the entire week before we arrived so the snow was hard packed. I was really bummed out on my drive up all the way from South Carolina, but quickly stopped worrying about it upon arrival. We had more fun exploring the area, visiting Montreal, going on hikes, cooking dinners, and playing silly board games with the wood stove burning than any amount of snowmobiling could have brought. We were so sad to leave and we're already planning on our return trip to enjoy this great spot in the warm weather this summer! Thanks to Joannie for helping us out with anything we could possibly need on our trip and to Judy for sharing her lovely place with us."

  • Spacious Lake Front Property

"I was there in late October with a group of women friends. We found the house to be spacious and comfortable. Decor was very pleasant. Plenty of seating areas both inside and out. Large, fenced yard for safety of children. Can walk or ride bike out the door as close to bike path. Plenty of sightseeing in the area. Only 6 minutes by car to large supermarket. "Camp" is a term used in Maine for a cottage. This wonderful house is more than a cottage.... I am not sure how late in the year, the house is rented. The house is not insulated and can get cold in spite of using the wood stove and propane heater. We happened to have a couple of very rainy, windy days. Being New Englanders, we knew how to dress for this kind of cool weather so it was not a problem for us."

  • The PERFECT home away from home

"My first time renting on VRBO didn't disappoint. I did my homework on the area and the many houses that surrounded it and I settled on Donna's. Ladies and gentleman, this house is perfect in so many ways. Pictures cannot due justice of just how much room the house actually has. I had 13 people all between the ages of 24-31 stay in the house. It fit everyone comfortably with no issues. The "Great Room" (Shuffleboard, fireplace, etc.) was the place my crew and I spent the most time. Also, brand new for December 2014 is a state of the art hot tub. We fit 6 people comfortably in there. We incorporated family dinners every night as well and with top notch appliances (Viking Stove, Bosh dishwasher + Bosh laundry units), everything was easy. Sugarbush Ski Resort is 1/4 away along with any other hidden gems. Upon reservation completion, Donna sends you a list of spots (restaurants, bars and activities) incase you have never been here. I visited the the "Castlerock Pub" and "Timbers"…both great spots at the resort right down then street. I have been here before before so my crew and I also hiked some trails near Blueberry Lake and stopped at the Warren waterfalls. With a nice cozy house and fire every night, this weekend was a perfect weekend getaway for my crew and I from Boston, MA. Will rent again! Thanks Donna."

  • Perfect Family Vacation

"Earlier this summer I stayed at the Lodge for a long weekend with several girlfriends. We had such an incredible time that I arranged to return for my family's annual summer vacation, including our two dogs. We weren't disappointed. We were greeted with a wonderful gift basket overflowing with Vermont goodies. There was so much for the kids to do right there...no need to drive for hours to get to that "fun spot"...it was all there! We swam, hiked, biked, and paddled. We even managed a friendly game of basketball. The bedrooms were comfortable, the living area was spacious and inviting, and the kitchen met all of our needs. The washer/dryer was a huge plus as well as having all the towels and linens we needed. The patio was a peaceful place to gather and the dock was a serene place to relax and read a good book. The owners are lovely people and most hospitable. They aided us with everything from tending a yellow jacket sting to sharing historical tidbits. We are already planning a winter getaway and perhaps a day trip to cut our very own special Christmas Tree. This is definitely a place where memories are made. Thanks for a great stay!"
